sage14 1,945
English isn't my first language but I love grammar honestly. Imagine language without grammar, it would be without order and completely chaotic.

Tweedledee 2,073
I'm not a native English speaker but I hate bad grammar. I've been using English since I was young. I can tolerate mistakes in bits and pieces but if I often hear subject and verb mismatch it annoys me. Even in this forum, I sometimes try to get used to the less formal use of the language. I understand though that most users in this forum aren't native speakers. It actually helps most practice their English/grammar skills.
Bizzi 53
It is very important to learn it even if English isn't your first language. However, some people are just more understanding since English isn't everyone mother tongue.

I'm not a native English speaker either, but I have been learning and using English since kindergarten since I was born and raised in the U.S. (my first language was Vietnamese due to my home environment), and while I understand that not everyone here is a native English speaker, some of the simple grammar mistakes I see on here (and around the internet in general) annoy me. Like why do so many people insert an apostrophe before the -s when pluralizing words (for example: which kpop artist's do you like)? Apostrophes are only supposed to be used to show possession or contraction, not to pluralize words.

I was so strict with myself before with the use of punctuation marks but I kind of loosen up a bit. Sometimes I think I'm forgetting proper grammar after using this forum. I don't like it when people use 'irregardless'. I can't accept it even though some would say it is an informal word. I also hate it when people say/type 'their' instead of 'they're' (for they are). In my mind, I correct them with the proper words to understand their thoughts.
