I know this is a bit late but could someone explain me about this whole SK political scandal?

I know a bit of what's going on like the president or the literally whole country being the controlled by one woman? Like how is that even possible? I also saw this on somewhere else that YG has some ties to the political scandal which is one of the reasons why their artists always get away with everything. Could someone explain tho? thanks.

Basically this + the daughter of the head of the cult somehow gained a ton of influence over the president before she took office. So she's been pulling the strings the entire time.

Basically, when Park Geunhye's father, Park Junghee, was "president" (dictator) of SK, PGH was introduced to Choi Taemin, cult leader of cult "Young Sei Kyo." Young Sei Kyo is a shamanistic/Buddhist/Christian cult with a mystical basis. Choi Taemin claimed he could communicate with PGH's mother, and gained her trust by exploiting her in her fragile state. All of PGH's family members were against PGH's reliance on Choi Taemin, but allowed the relationship to continue for her emotional stability. Eventually PJH was assassinated, and CTM died. Choi Soonsil, daughter of Choi Taemin, took her father's place by PGH's side, claiming that Choi Taemin and the rest of PGH's assassinated family members haven't passed away - just left earth so they could make way for Choi Soonsil and PGH's prosperity.

The scandal erupted into "Choi Soonsil-gate" when it was discovered that Choi Soonsil used her influence over the president to have her daughter, Choi Yoora, enrolled into a prestigious women's college, Ewha University, when it was clear that Choi Yoora didn't have the proper educational qualifications to gain admittance. 
There was an investigation of the Choi's after the above discovery, which led to a news team coming across CSS's unlocked tablet containing classified information with nonsensical revisions. PGH admitted to having the cult as her emotional and spiritual guide, but denies the outright control CSS has had over ROK affairs, which angers people more since it is a blatant lie. PGH is refusing the step down, which means her approval ratings are getting lower everyday. 

Aka everyone is flipping out because PGH was probably announcing foreign policy based on shamanistic beliefs, rather than political knowledge.
