Do you think Korean GP is ready for a half-black idol?

a half white one yes but not half-black. Koreans like white people best out of non-Asian foreigners (and tbh usually over Asian foreigners)

They are behind Japan in this respect because other half-black idols and singers have found success there

yoon mirae is half black and is the most respected female rapper in Korea

insooni is half black and one of the most respected female singers in Korea

which Japanese idol group has a half black member? Yes there are plenty of artists but their idol state is the exact same

what an intensely exaggerated post

well insooni and yoon mirae are widely respected in korea so i dont think itll be a huge issue. does that mean he'll never experience any sort of racism in his career? of course not but i would think most would accept him. and just like all idols theres a lot of other factors too, his visuals/talent/etc

LDH has lots of half-black idols and crystal kay exists.

insooni and mirae went through literal hell but I see you trying to erase it. you didn't know that the government tried to kick tasha and her husband out of the country eh? ok

also in terms of idols who represent something different than rappers (mirae's blackness gives her 'authenticity' as a rapper) then ask kpop star's lee michelle how easy it is to become one

i think it's hard to tell for sure

the gp tends to favor light skin, but mostly in non-mixed korean idols, i think? tzuyu is dark skinned and the gp loves her, for instance, and alex from rania is well liked as well

i think (and this is just my opinion) that it could go either way, but that the gp would be more accepting of a mixed idol with dark skin than with a non-mixed one

People here throwing out Insooni and Tasha as if they're the rule and not the exception...

it depends on how attractive [and talented] said half-black idol is which will determine if the gp will care or not.

this, unfortunately anti-blackness & xenophobia is still rampant in SK, so it's not clear cut if they might actually respect the idol

i hope that it will turn out for the best, but it's unrealistic to think that the idol (especially if the group gets popular) won't get hate/comments about their race or skin color.....look at Kai, N, & Tzuyu, who are all East Asian and still get comments about their skin color

I believe Yoon Mirae's son (who is only 1/4 black) also got negative comments in the past as well :(
