Special parting gift for Rainbow

Following Rainbow's retirement as a group, I decided to do one last gift for Rainbow. I decided to send them a cake to thank them for the last 7 years. I kept the cake design simple and the message on it short, but endearing. I made special arrangements with Jae Kyung's mother to have it delivered to her restaurant. I am very thankful to have worked with her mother, such a sweet woman. I felt it was more sentimental and sincere to go to her workplace instead of DSP Media (while Rainbow's contract still remains for another week). I also wrote and included a letter with the cake. Through the arrangements, her mother suggested 11/04 as delivery date, so that is what we did.

December 2007, I began a journey. I started to lay my groundwork of becoming a future Rainnous. I read a news article about a new girl group being formed through DSP Media. The next year several of the girls were introduced through a music video around May 2008. By August 2008, I joined a fan community for a trainee girl group rumored to be named Rainbow and started to slowly provide photos and information for fans. The fan community grew as Rainbow debuted the next year in November 2009. It was from that day forward that I truly dedicated my life to a group named Rainbow and their fans, who would be officially named Rainnous a few years later. Time really does go by so fast doesn't it? So many memories. Success and struggles. Happiness and sadness. Trials of life really do bend both ways. Through it all you grow. It molds you into the person that many will go onto love later. You learn lessons and find yourself.

For me, Rainbow was a key to happiness. They lifted you up when you felt down. They were there at the moments you most needed them to be. It was like a well written script. Fate really. How could 7 girls from the other side of the world create a arc of happiness that spread across the world, affecting so many people in a good way? Rainbow's music was like a happy virus. A good infection that entered your ears, but settled in your heart. Bright and lively, fun and mischievous.

I never got to see Rainbow perform, but that is ok. The happiness they gave me was well enough. In my case, despite the distance, Rainbow and I created our own type of arc, a unspoken bond. We had a special connection through Visual Glow despite the barriers we faced. I knew they cared about me as much as I cared about them. When they heard my name and declared me on several occasions as 'our fan' I knew they were as proud to have me as a fan as I was as proud of being there for them when I could. We met through After School Club, had interactions through radio programs, friends helped me send messages to them, etc. whenever they could they tried to repay me (even through notes on my album, etc.). They saw my loyalty, dedication, passion... things I take alot of pride in. Something I have used as my energy (along with the happiness given to me by Rainbow) to run Visual Glow all these years. That dedication and passion will continue. Visual Glow will never close. I will be there for all 7 girls as I always have. A promise is a true promise!

As you girls walk your new paths, I believe in you. Idol life is not forever, the shackles of it have fallen and set you free. The way your handle your lives from this point on will play a big part of your future going forward. As an adult myself, I can fully understand where your priorities and interests now lay. Life is a long path that you can't take for granted. What you do today will shape your lives as you grow old. It's time to think of yourself and loved ones, focus on you and do not worry so much about catering to others. I know you will make the right choices that make you happy. I also know your bond with each other will always go on and give you the energy to succeed in your choices. Through idol life, you gained the most important thing. Trophies wasn't it! You won the trust, respect and love of your fellow mates. People who will always be there for you. Who know you for you. There is nothing better then that. For this, you truly won the K-Pop lottery. Disband is not the right word as Rainbow will still go on as friends (the light is always lit), you just simply retired from the music industry for now.

7 members, 7 colors, 7 years, 7 continents in the world... there are so many things that connect with lovely 7. For sure, Rainbow will always connect with my heart. Thank you Rainbow for all you have done. At the end of the Rainbow is a gold pot and I am sure you will find yours.
