Nikkei Entertainment Releases Its Concert Mobilization Power Ranking for 2016

Every year, Nikkei Entertainment magazine releases a series of rankings which arrange celebrities in various fields according to familiarity and interest. Later in the year, the magazine also releases a ranking based on concert attendance in Japan, ranking acts based on the overall amount of people whom attended their performances over the course of the year. This ranking is based on seating capacity for venues, not necessarily tickets sold.

Nikkei Entertainment made the decision to include fanmeet events in the totals this year, breaking with tradition.

That being said, Big Bang topped the ranking this year with 1,859,000 attendees at 60 concerts. They were followed by Arashi with 939,000 attendees at 32 concerts. Third place went to Kanjani8 with 875,000 attendees at 35 concerts.

BB have been touring like crazy for the last 2 years. YG is working them to the limit before the enlistment.

EXO, SHINee and even iKON are ahead of 2PM. Was abandoning their top position in Korea worth being 2nd tier group in Japan?

So happy to see eito so high in the list despite more than half of their concerts are from the arena tour :ahmagah: and some of those arenas were like REALLY small

eito rocks!

They are coming for Arashi :rlytearpls:  :rlytearpls:

The jimusho announced weeks ago that Kanjani is already their 2nd act in the list of acumulative attendance in the history of the whole company, even over SMAP and Kinki Kids ...and eito is only on their 12th year :ahmagah:

RISE EITO!!!!

E-girls and Nogizaka yay

and nogizaka doing better than akb?

Nogi usually does better on a list like this because theatre shows count as a concert (I think capacity is 229).  This would be the same for all 48 groups.  HKT had 165 shows and AKB had 289. So they didnt do many big show

Hurray

2 and 3 added together would still be less than Bigbang

2 and 3 can do so much more than Bigbang if they also do all domes+stadiums. More than half of 2 and 3's concerts are arenas. Plus Bigbang don't even go to places like Hokkaido where it's hard to sell domes, but 2 and 3 do.

Also, most Japanese acts don't even do fanmeet and these numbers include fanmmeet. Imagine if Johnny's actually allow their acts to do fanmeet. They'll never do it in just arenas, oh no, too small for them. They'd do it in domes or stadiums instead. :)

i know it is a fact that they got no 1. but before you gloat, see the number of times too. it's not that other acts can't. it it useless to argue when the fans want to believe that big bang is actually more popular then no 2 and no 3. so be it. go and gloat that no 1 is so popular and loved by Japanese people. keep negging people but it won't change the fact really.

What's the different between KPOP's fanmeet and JPOP's fanmeet that made a KPOP's fanmeet counted equal with a concert while JPOP's fanmeet not? Instead of fanmeet, why not counting concert's live-viewing? Isn't it have closer meaning to concert mobilization power, since people go there if they couldn't get the venue ticket?

Back in 2014, Sandaime got 1.5M attendances from 60 concerts in arena and dome.

Good to know that Big Bang can get almost the same number with only 30? concerts, so that they still have time to did 30 fanmeets to get another high number. Dome&stadium base concerts must be helped a lot to make that number. I'm not a fan, but congrats for them.
