The rumors Somi joining Twice has got to be the worst news in recent times...

I'd say even worse than when 2ne1 disbanded!

First off, let me start by saying that this scenario is a win-lose situation. Win for Somi obviously and a huge loss for Twice.

Somi would be winning because she'll be entering an already established group. A group that has already debuted and have been thru hardships and pain and have solidified their bond through that.

A huge loss for Twice because it'd mean less attention and less singing parts for the ones who already get very few lines.

Second, why is it I only see non-once who want Somi in the group? Why do you think that is? Because us real once have come to know and have appreciated and adapted to Twice as a 9-member group. Adding someone into an already well established top group will have the same consequences as removing one. It'd disrupt and separate the fandom and would cause for a huge loss for JYP.

Third, this is NOT the same as Momo's situation. She was clearly eliminated by a fluke mistake and was added on before Twice's actual debut. So you people need to stop the comparisons. Clearly different.

Please sign my petition if you care about the well being of the group and care for their future.

a change.org petition? don't be dramatic. somi is not going to join twice, and she will go back to being a trainee (which is completely fair and not as horrible as some people are making it out to be).

Damn there are so many tragic events all around the world that would definitely benefit from a change.org petition. Yet you choose to use this platform in favor of your bias group...

Kpop is really serious business, huh?

I dislike when people say this.

I have, to my capabilities, have helped the homeless around my area several times. Have given them money and food.

I would give more to more people in other countries if I had the means and funds to, but I don't.

What have YOU done to change the world?

How about you stop caring what people are passionate about?

If I want to help I know what to do and where to go hon, my country is a small one in Africa with less than one million of inhabitants so trust me, there is a lot of work to do. However I just find it interesting when people use such platforms (who could actually help those on the verge of death) in favor of such trivial things like kpop. Be passionate and do you tho...

"A group that has already debuted and have been thru hardships and pain and have solidified their bond through that."

I respect your opinion on the matter and all, but honestly?? They've debuted for like a year, it hasn't been that long. Also what kind of hardships and pain? Sure they didn't blow up from the start but it was relatively fast; I certainly don't see it as "pain".

You may think Somi would throw the group dynamics off balance, ok. But saying the others have already "solidified their bond" is not a legitimate argument at all. Only a year into their debut, I think the fandom and the GP would adapt quickly, especially considering Somi is already famous.

Tzuyu's scandal.

Tzuyu who was used as a puppet by the Cginese government and was brought in between political squabble.

Not only did this greatly affect her and her members/family, but also affected a nation of people from Taiwan.

Not to mention, made several worldwide headlines

Lolol "worst news in recent times" it isn't but it would be a huge dick move since kpop companies only ever add members to struggling groups not ones that are hugely hugely popular and successful. It would make JYPE look greedy and shameless to be honest, especially since there are so many ex-Sixteen contestants and other trainees waiting to debut. If they added Somi to Twice, you can be assured that JYPNGG will be pushed several years into the murky future and many trainees will get the boot in the meantime.

That's an overreaction, even though at some point the issue did become serious.

Anyway though, that was not a group issue at all. Tzuyu suffered most of it but it had no negative repercussion to them as a group within Korea, which is their main market. Actually, if anything, within Korea it was a good "scandal" since it made her known to the GP and people sided with her since Koreans have a thing against China. In Taiwan everyone supported her too. It's only in China that it was negative but it was never their main market, they don't promote there, they don't have activities there. JYP made her apologize to save face but now with the Hallyu ban it doesn't make much of a difference.

So the point is, was the group ever antagonized when promoting? Did they ever stop receiving support because of this scandal? Were they ever hated on in Korea? Did people badmouth them? Nah. Only on weibo, but like I said, China won't be their main market, and most importantly, it wasn't their main market when the scandal happened (perhaps none of the girls even speak Chinese besides Tzuyu to understand the hate), so I doubt them as group felt any suffering or pain or whatever. Tzuyu had a hard time but it didn't have any negative impact on their fanbase (I assume they didn't have a large Chinese fanbase to begin with).
