basically she got exposed for having some crazy cult lady dictating her decisions and scamming money. The cult lady had much power on her because her dad apparently had a close relationship with the president because he was her mentor and could speak to the president's mom when she was dead

Well, that was an intense story   . It read like a movie.

So the things about the cult turned out to be true?? I had seen multiple threads here about that but I ignored it since I considered the idea to be too far-fetched.

"cult" is a buzzword, people.

all religions are "cults."

 

sure, it's not good to have some random religious figure influencing the government, but that's not new for korea. die-hard christian groups already influence plenty of politics over there.
