Jang Hyuk’s OCN Drama “Voice†Starts Off First Week With Good Ratings

jang-hyuk-lee-ha-na.jpg&key=abd84fdade17

OCN’s newest drama, “Voice,†starring Jang Hyuk and Lee Ha Na, has started off its first week with ratings of 4.1 percent, a relatively good score for the cable channel.

Directed by Kim Hong Sun, “Voice†focuses intensively on the concept of ‘sound.’ Lee Ha Na plays Kang Kwon Joo, a voice profiler, and much of the thrill of the early episodes have come from her character making deductions from deciphering the sounds in phone calls. In order to make these scenes more realistic, the drama has shot these scenes with stereo sound that can be felt through the TV, computer, headphones, or even earphones.

The drama has also used the concept of “golden time†to build tension, where characters have to move within three minutes, arrive within five minutes, and capture the criminal within 10 minutes.

Finally, the tragic backgrounds of Jang Hyuk’s character, a former detective whose wife was murdered by a serial killer, and Lee Ha Na’s character, an emergency call operator who overheard the murder of her father through a phone call, add to the sense of depth of the story.

With an average of 3.3 percent and a highest recorded rating of 4.1 percent, “Voice†is starting out its first few weeks on a strong note. The third episode aired on January 21 at 11 p.m. instead of the usual 10 p.m., and will return to its 10 p.m. slot on January 22.

Haven't watched ep 3 yet but I don't think dad shik is the killer. Ocn dramas of this genre are better than that. But for the sake of spicing things up I wouldn't completely rule out dar shik being involved in some other way all the gossip that he seemingly loves may be to cover or protect someone else from being found out.

Who is dad shik? You mean Daeshik right? lol,

somehow im sure OCN has a lot twisted plot, esp like Squad 38 drama.  :meow:

Anyway enjoy the subs Ep.3 here: http://dramafire.com/voice-episode-3/

is this really look like Daesik?? somehow it made no sense if DS could be that killer

If you watch Ep.3, during converstation between kwon joo & that detective, she explained everything..

I just read this article, this case seems so similar to what happen in Ep.1, The moment where MJH's wife got killed.

Korea has been gripped by the horrific and gruesome murder (April 1) of Ms. K, a 28 year old woman who was kidnapped, raped, and dismembered into 280 parts, despite having called the police giving accurate details as to her whereabouts. The police arrived at the crime scene 13 hours later, to find her dismembered body as well as the suspected murderer, a Chinese of Korean descent (Korean name Oh Won-chun).

ok, so i watched it w subs now.. its 3 am but i am sick and cant sleep anyway.. so i was right, it wasnt Dae Shik.. first, he didnt had black hair, his voice isnt cracking and he dont have any power or a reason why real high up´s would make their hands dirty to hide him..

its one of the higher up, and one of the real higher ups.. one of high chefs.. i mean we have a missing voice record, false and wrong made up evidence for someone who is unguilty (maybe he was forced to make the "deal") and them tried t´with hard ways to make her shut up.. So Dae Shik can be theoretical helping, but in no way he is the murder, if we got the facts from this episode.. and Kwon Joo seams even to know who the murder is.. she is only collecting the evidence, if i get it right. she is much more far with her investigation as she told.

But i dont rlly got the last scene.. I am not used of City/Arias names.. i dont rlly know what them all mean.. with the transfer from higher ups..

this Episode made 5% .. wow.. i heared that a ranking above like 4% is rlly good. AWL had rlly good rankings and this now too.

the most reason i loved AWL was for the "rebel against higher ups" and making new rules.. and its in Voice the same case for some things.. Its also a Drama, where ppl suffered and not everything was fine in their lifes, like its usually in romance dramas.. I love it so much. Ye made again an 1A choice with it.

Aww so you're sick? make sure you take meds before you sleep  :hurr:

Anyway bout missing record, i guess Kwon joo had a copy? since she listen to it in her room? During Ep.2 i guess.

RECAPS from Inquisitr

Many of this month’s debuting K-dramas are mostly melodramatic, suspenseful, or thrilling that keep viewers on the edge of their seat. Missing 9 just made its debut on the Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) and the K-drama with parallels with American drama Lost is already earning more viewers than its predecessor. Defendant starts this coming week and is about a prosecutor with amnesia finding himself on death row for the crime of killing his family yet he does not know how he got there. Now he has to depend on a defense lawyer who always loses to save him. Needless to say, K-drama fans will not have many choices for light-hearted romantic comedies with Introvert Boss being the only option available right now.

However, there is one melodramatic K-drama that is far more suspenseful and thrilling than the others and that one is called Voice. Apparently, viewers are getting sucked into the intense K-drama as it has earned good viewership ratings for its debut week. Such an accomplishment gets extra attention simply because its television network, the Orion Cinema Network (OCN), was on hiatus for four months.

The first and second episodes of Voice aired on Saturday and Sunday, January 14 and 15 KST on OCN. The viewership ratings provided by AGB Nielsen Korea and TNmS Media Korea show it did good. The former recorded for the second episode 2.986 percent for the nation, 2.267 percent for the Seoul National Capital Area, and peaked at 4.6 percent. The latter only recorded one percentage, 2.1 percent for the nation. Take note that OCN is a Korean cable channel, so viewership ratings are relatively small compared to public channels.

What is surprising about the viewership ratings is the fact that OCN has been on hiatus or inactive for four months. The last K-drama they aired, Squad 38, ended back in August of 2016. For OCN to get back into the viewership ratings game after four months and attain more than half the max viewership Squad 38 had on its best day is phenomenal.

For those who don’t know what Voice is about, it stars Jang Hyuk and Lee Ha Na. Moo Jin Hyuk (Jang Hyuk), a detective on the police force, had his life spiral out of control after his wife is killed by a serial killer. He starts to put his life together after meeting Kang Kwon Joo, a voice profiler who lost her police officer father to the same serial killer. Together, they work on Korea’s emergency telephone line, the 112 Call Center.

About this tvn airing Voice drama... Actually OCN and tvN are owned by the same company (CJ E&M) so they are sister channels. Cooperate each other.

Shows on tvN are less daring than OCN shows. tvN appeals more to the general cable viewers. OCN’s shows are usually on later 11pm and 12 midnight so anything above 1% is considered good rating.  :)

Here's their full live talk, just incase if some of you not watch yet lol
