I never knew there was a remix to G-dragon's Heartbreaker featuring Flo Rider! I'm probably 10 years late but yeah it's pretty dope yall.
Rohan Kishibe 13,713
It's because there were a lot of accusations of plagiarism and flo rida gave those accusers a middle finger by collabing with him.

eriy.m 2,900
I never liked that this happened. It's not like you guys are saying, "florida said f*** them and let's do the remix". What happened is that, Florida and his label wanted to benefit from the situation so they probably came to an agreement with YG, "do the remix and we'll forget about the accusations of plagiarism" That is what I know about the situation, if you have another opinion it is your right to do so. It depends whose version you listen to. Haters and antis who were salivating over the chance to drag GD latched on and spread this idea of events, as they are likley the same sort of people who still continue to believe YG is so rich they pay the government, police, internet sites and award shows at the same time to make up YG performers are worth anything and it is all a big scam and brainwashing. There is the cold logic that a nice pay out sweetened Flo-ridas tongue. Fans will obviously take the collaboration as meaning flo-rida and his team after viewing the evidence thought it was not worth pursuing. What is enough to be a serious case of plagerism is not clear. A korean school music book showed GD and Flo-rida's opening bars (the only bits similiar between them) as a example of plagerism despite it never being taken to court. It does show they use different notes, keys and timing but the final result is very similiar. It is possible the amount of song being so small and the notes different in writing it might not have been enough to take to court for a clear win, getting dragged out it might have cost more so was not worth it plus after meeting each other and taking a liking no money under the table was needed, which is fair. One way of looking at it would be Flo-rida and his team could have stood to make quite a bit of money off sueing YG given the songs success, possibly more than they could from doing a re-mix that was only on the Live version of GD's concert. I have seen this discussed at length before and there is back and forth between what was actually plagerised and what actually counts, and also issues of independent creation so not knowing if YG/Choice 37 copyrighted the tune years before but someone else thought of something similiar and just released it first. If they could produced evidence of that then it's just bad luck. Then there are those that think Flo-rida did it because he himself plagerised the song and didn't want things to be looked into too deeply by sony. Sony was the whistle blower and ones that were pushing for examining the music, Truth is, there is so much room for any interpretation because besides those legally involved no one knows exactly how or why and people make up theories based on their bias. So it could be like those guys are saying and Flo-rida was like "I like this guy, F U people picking on him." or he could have been "I need a little extra doe, these people seem to be popular in another country I could use this to get a foothold in Asia." Or he could have been both. What matters is, Flo-rida (being nice or smart) collaborated with GD and people were happy about it.
