Why do cute girl groups trigger people so much?

I've noticed that people are so hostile towards them just because they don't act or look "bad ass" I find it quite as everybody has different tastes.

For example I like After school but they haven't come back in such a long time they to me are "bad ass" but I also like groups with an innocent concept like Gfriend I find the beauty in both but being in kpop for as long as I have many people just hate anything cute and wishes all gg's were edgy af.

So anyway I'd just like to know why people dislike the concept of cute/innocence in girl groups.

Let's discuss.

because they're bland from their viewpoints

i don't see any reason to criticize innocent concepts i mean at least i'm not shaking my ass off over songs with fast EDM beats no matter how bad they are

because cute innocent concept is very childish and plain

loads of people aren't used to aegyo and find it cringe for a grown adult woman to be acting that way.

ofc i dont like dult women jumping around like kids

Because most of them the same, looks the  same, sounds the same.

You really to be blind or deaf to think they all look and act the same tbh no shade towards you but come on.

i don't get the "hate" when almost all the boy groups doing a trap/edm music.

What?

It's for show y'all act like that's how go about their normal life when most don't they get asked to do it by men who hosts shows/management they don't just break out in aegyo for no reason most of them don't even like doing it like Sinb.

I find cute concepts problematic because they infantilize women (group members) while sexualizing them at the same time.  I am not even going to go into music but it is the image I find I have a problem with, to the point I do not want my daughter to emulate them because I do not think it is a good message to give to a young girl. I have no hate towards the groups as I am sure their management decides on such concepts because they attract a certain audience and it is not like they have much say in it.

I agree with some of the above: lots of people think cute teen-20s girl groups pander to creepy old men, anyone badass is gonna find them bland, and if you're not used to aegyo that could be it: seeing a 20-yr old act like she's 7 could be yuck. Also, there are SO many girl groups now! It's easy to lump them and dismiss them en mass. (I fear a great disbandment trend, especially if everyone jumps on the Twice bandwagon.)

I think Gfriend gets around these (I'll assume it's cleverly on purpose) by not showing any more skin than necessary, not acting in any way "sexy", and they've gotten away from the aegyo (SinB especially; the most badass. And I love her for it! She seems the most mature.)

But everything in Kpop is sexualized, that's why Bobby in ur sign is shirtless and that's why boybands have a hipthrust or any other "sexual" move in their choreos every 30 seconds. Once again, the double standards

It's not my viewpoint personally, I like cute concepts very much, but I'm just saying that some people think like that.

Most of hate come to women, I think women feel insecure watching them, like they will steal their (delusional) "Oppa", and jealous "how can they act like that while Im here like this?" "why we look different with same act?"

And people say "cool" concept is different, of course it same, but have different POV, they just say it to strengthen their argument and need something to be hated

So which concept of girl group which didnt "Infantilize" and "sexualize"?

For me it's like an Cultural thing just like when westerners look at for example Japanese MV's crazy af

it's similar to this like westerners are like more of a bold approach unlike majority of asians who are like a bit shy

in comparisons that makes them see that "holy shit this is so weird, "so they seduce men with their body etc."

but when you are in asia it's like an opposite opinion when most likely when being cutesy is popular. so yeah..

it is what it is.

Bobby is a grown ass man behaving like a grown ass man. I have no problem with sexy concepts or even lot of skin, it is childlike + sexy I have a problem with. So it is not double standard. I love how Sistar members look for example, they are grown ass women looking like grown ass women. Sexy as hell and that is wonderful. Gain I found empowering in a way she owns her sexuality and sexiness.

But most groups with cute concept don't do "childlike + sexy". Look Lovelyz or Gfriend, there is nothing sexual in them. Maybe you never really give them a try and you are judging in mass. And I don't see the problem why girls in their late 10s or early 20s doing this type of concepts, that doesn't make them weak. I think a girlgroup in their 10s showing skin with sexy concepts are a worse message. But everything depends on the point of view I guess.

Look, I have different perceptive and priorities, probably due to my age among other things. Now girl of 14 or 15,16 or so doing a sexy concept I find extremely disturbing and wrong and I also I find  infantilizing women is taking away their voice, making them childlike is giving an message they are not independent (because children are dependent) that they need a protector a decision maker as children do. I have worked with gender issues and gender sensibility for a long time and that definitely colors my world view. Now you mentioned two groups and you are right there is nothing overtly sexual about them, but I always felt their concept was more feminine and youthful then in your face cutesy. But you have to admit there is an abundance of groups that do exactly what I mentioned . I just feel as a mother and as a woman that I have an issue with it for reasons stated. I make my decisions based on my values and world view and I find this aspect of what some groups do is something I dislike. (Now, boy group members floor humping is something I find distasteful too).

I feel bad for your future child they can't even wear cute things or like cute groups because their parent is a close minded annoyance.

Why should I expect any better from an manist I see a half naked Bobby in your sig but inanyway I digress.

My child is 10 years old and likes pink and Hello Kitty and bunnies. She is a child and she likes things children do. And you have a problems with reading comprehension. I have a problem when women or girls are presented as childlike and as sex objects at the same time because I think this gives a wrong message. What does that have to do with cute things for god sake. Also my kid likes many things I do not like and she is not forbidden from liking it, if I have a problem with something  we talk about it.  She is very good at expressing her arguments and can stand up for herself really well. I wonder why? Maybe because she has been told from get go that her opinion matters, that her wishes matter and that she matters.
