Why do Army's have a bad reputation?

Recently I have been listening to a lot of BTS and I'm truly enjoying their newest album Wings. It's the first time I have encountered an album where I like all the songs in it.

But I have noticed that other fandoms or kpop fans either 'hate' or are severely annoyed by Army's. I'm just curious to why the fandom has gotten such a bad reputation? Is it just overreaction by others or is it warranted?

Because some people like to take the actions of a few fans to represent the entire fanbase and it's a bit silly. Every fanbase is going to have fans that nobody wants to talk about.

Btw your sig is cute! That's my favorite part of the Dope MV

EXO-Ls have such bad reputation as a fandom as well lol

But for ARMYs, I think it's for being such supportive and dragging the boys anywhere like

in YT vids that they're not included and yet BTS would still be mentioned lol

Our fandom grew a lot and really quickly. It was mostly non K-pop fans back in 2015 when finebros did a reaction video to bts dope.

None of them actually understood K-pop culture and how sensitive fans are. They were just really excited to like bts and would be like "omg is that jungkook on your picture" on non K-pop videos starting the whole "armies are everywhere" which pissed people off.

Bts was first seen as competition for the top current groups at the same time and that became a recipe for disaster
