guys here is a quick recap of f(x)'s standing in korea

 

they basically have no trend anymore. they are stable, but not expanding at all in terms of public recognition or fans. I go to an international school and I know Koreans who, to my extreme displeasure, told me that f(X) really isn't popular except with a very small niche. they said most people don't like their songs, and that red velvet was already much more popular than f(X). also another Korean girl who wasnt part of that discussion said that the last big f(X) song was electric shock. 

:-( I'm sad about this... but I will like f(X) either way. I really think they should do more releases and variety though now

I don't mind trolls doing their shit outside but doing it in the official thread is not ok, that's the only place where fans feel " home" so no once should take that away from them.

 

 

I got a reply from Bekki just now that she will be keeping a close eye on that user in the future :)

Can someone who is into C-entertainment give me an insight into Victoria's popularity and image in China ? I know she's doing well and that Beautfiul Secret has had some really high ratings so it can't be just Vic fans who watched it no matter how dedicated they are lol

I've heard some good thing and some not so nice things (which is normal) but I'm curious.

The only bad thing I heard about was about the Noona's Over Flowers stint that got her some negative press, but turned out to be scripted and angered a lot of Victorians. The YangYang "scandal" was obviously some of his angry fangirl hating on Vic. That's the only negative instances I know off.

So, can anyone help me out ?

Vic is both loved and hated in China with severe highs and lows. She occasionally gets criticized for her looks,  acting, rude Vic fans as well as choosing Korea to become famous first before returning back to China to become an actress. Then again all C actresses get tons of hate for similar reasons. However more ppl are warming up to her and recognize her progress. Her haters can't stop her from getting love calls from top directors and making her mark in the C industry.

 

Her drama Beautiful Secret did better than expected reaching a 3.98% national rating at its peak which is quite an achievement for a contemporary drama with a small cast. This means she got alot of public recognition since the drama is all about Vic's character. Also Vic's big ancient/fantasy dramas such as Ice Fantasy and Ancient Love Song will help her get even more popular because millions already read the novels. Right now C Ent are already calling Ice Fantasy to be one of/if not the biggest C Drama of 2016.

 

Basically at this point of Vic's popularity in China is very stable and even if one project flops, she has another around the corner. I really hope she won't do that project with Rain though...

Check out her Instagram, she is getting hated by Taiwanese extremists the most. 

There are actually alot of chinese users praising her on Instagram too.

 

I don't support China's Island disputes or rather don't want to get involved but pretty much all the big Chinese stars on weibo reblogged that post out of patriotism. It's how communism works. Vic had pretty much no choice but stand firm with China rejection over the UN's decision to risk her career or status being damaged there. Another example would be TWICE's Tzuyu who was forced her to support 'One China' after the ridiculous flag controversy when it's obvious she doesn't care for politics.

 

It's the price of being a celeb in China and I hope ppl won't judge Vic too hard for this.

It's really crazy. The fact that Cnetz are posting shit like 'Amber I belive that you support the CHinese Mainland Goverment that Taiwan and South Chinese Sea are BELONG TO CHINESE MAINLAND' on Amber's Insta when she's Taiwanese American shows how Vic had no option but to reblog that post.

 

Literally every Chinese and even Taiwanese celeb are being witch hunted by Cnetz right now. I don't understand why Vic is being put in the spotlight here. Like I said earlier, international fans forget China is a communist country. It's like going to N Korea to say Kim Jong Un sucks and is evil. I mean sure you can if you want to be executed. Extreme example but u get the picture. Also Vic has many reps who manages her SNS. We don't even know for certain it was her who reblogged it or her publicist.

 

I'm not saying what Vic did was right by any means but I wish ppl would understand Victoria's NO win situation.

I had been vic's fan since her wgm days until somedays ago, she's my favourite entertainer not counting the 9 soshi girls, i supported her in any way possible, buying albums, stream on melon, etc, to be honest, after that post on her insta, i felt betrayed and like someone slapped me right in the face, i even swore that i wont care for her anymore, but hearing that she was ill still make me wonder if she's okay, did she overwork, etc. Sorry about the rant, just got a little emotional. Anyway this might be my first and last post about her here. Goodbye Vic, it has been a long and overall good ride.

Her insta did provoke conflict at the same time C celebrities are being used as mouthpieces for the communist party. I just wish we could turn back time and Chinese kpop idols would never be involved in politics. I respect your decision to leave her in a mature manner :)

You know, before coming and frequenting OH like I do now, the division of this fandom has never been clear to me, so I didn't get it when people said how this fandom was so divided. And tbh, now that I can see it, it makes me really fucking sad. I love all the girls.... and it really hurts my heart when the fandom argues over one member, and/or passive of one (or more) member.... I'm not calling anyone out with this mini rant. You can like who you like. It's just how I feel... 

 

 

 

I like to be positive on f(x) threads, since we don't need anymore negativity as it is, but I just needed to let this out, it's something that's been bothering me the past week...  :._.: :._.: :._.:

 

It's totally understandable how you feel. I keep seeing these so called MeUs commenting 'this member should be kicked out of f(x)' or 'this member is a flop unlike this member' all too often. These type of passive aggressive comments only gives what's left of the f(x) fandom more motivation to stan them individually than as a group.

 

It's one of the reasons why I like some of the newer girl groups cause they remind me of f(x) in their early days, together as one group with a fandom all supporting one another. I'm not betraying f(x)'s fandom by getting into new groups but personally it gives me something positive to focus on rather than having to put up with reading depressing comments all the time.

I don't know if this is a bad thing...but I have gotten used to it.  I'm not active anywhere and I only realised how divided the fandom is during Luna's solo.  Krytoria's fans are too many to handle.  If Sulli is still with f(x), expect more mess.  I think it's best you ignore them and focus your attention to all the good things that are happening to the girls.  :) Lulu, Soojung, Vic and Berber are always giving us reasons to celebrate and smile.  Better give it back by doing so. :rlytearpls:

Are u talking about Zack Snyder's JL movie or the comics? Supes is 100% confirmed he will be in the JL movie. He will be making a comeback in the last quarter of the movie.

I love the idea that SM idols get a vacation but that Hawaii trip sounds like potential mess already. Vacations should be enjoyed privately but I can imagine all the kpop fans harassing them now it's made public.

 

 

So,I heard Vic Is filming a movie soon. But I thought she was going to shoot a drama with Rain ? Did it change to a movie or are those two seperate projects ?
I'd rather have her do a movie than shoot another 50 ep drama tbh.

She has a movie called 'Reverse Life' and Vic's part is just a small cameo. We still don't have confirmation from Vic's studio of 'Endless August' drama with Rain but rumored to film on August
