This law is true (Kim Young Ram anti corruption law), active since september I think. I thought that it was just for government employees or officials but it includes people who work on media in general too.

i think it's a good thing in a way

whenever i see the crowds of fans waiting to give 1 idol all those gifts... i can't help but wonder to what silent expectations and behavior the idols commit to without realizing.

at some point it started to look as if some fans attach expectation on behavior and words to their gifts and by accepting the gifts idols agree to do and say what the fans want and nothing else. and some gifts were expensive as fuck which at times made those fans feel even more entitled to things related to the idol

i think it's a nice way to limit the power fans have over idols while still allowing them to make gifts here and there. and 26$ is enough for a proper meal for 1 and therefore it pushes the fandom to take care of each member individually rather than as a whole group.

i think they are banning food support in variety and etc... because it kind of looks like they are trying to get on the PD's, staff good side with the use of food and that can be seeing as accepting a bribe

so personally, i think this is a good thing.

So I'm reading about this and I can't find anything that says it bans fansites from supporting their idols? It makes sense to ban support for government officials/people with authority. But idols?

Anyway, this is what I found related to Kpop

So this article says it's prohibiting agencies from providing tickets/food to media.

Those are Cube's new fan support guidelines in response to the new anti-graft law. However, Cube's limitations are overreaching because the new law doesn't apply to idols, except, as stated in the above article, how the agencies, idols and fans deal with the media--i.e., no freebies to the media unless the event is free, and no gift or meals to the media above a certain amount. The new law applies to dealings with public officials, the media/reporters, and teachers, and aims to prevent favoritism based on bribery (e.g., money, gifts).
