All the artists under Artist award like Best Male Group Male/Female, Best New Group Male/Female, etc. are automatically in the run for Artist of the Year too. Blackpink, I.O.I,NCT127, Astro, Pentagon, KNK, WjSN, gugudan, and other rookie are in the Artist of the Year list too. For people who don't know, MAMA divide the nomination to two main parts: ARTIST-BASED AWARD - Best Group, Best New Group, Best Male/Female Artist, etc. (all nominations will be include in Artist of the Year) SONG-BASED AWARD - Best Dance Performace, Best Vocal Performance, Best Collab, etc. (all nominations will be in Song of the Year) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

They aren't a collaboration because its a full time group not a one-time thing. These awards show do not know how to deal with AKMU without changing the categories.
