Random Rant: I get annoyed with the continuing insistence that he's the "mother" of GOT7. That role kinda delegates him to more of a pretty/cute boy image when he should be considered as freaking/godly handsome/hot.

Ughhhhh Marry me Jinyoung! Marry me!   He looks seriously handsome and that winks, everything..

PREACH. Hahaha. But he's the one who always introduces himself as the mother of the group though.. lol. But some people kinda misunderstood/forgot the real meaning behind "Mother" role i think, It's because he is the one who takes a good care of the members a lot also he knows more about schedule than the leader. XD

But from the FAs that i read many of them said how gentle n manly Jinyoung is and he looks more handsome irl. 

So i think it's a good thing to have both sides that he can be cute and manly at the same time.     

 

@Gwen.. LOL.. Yeah Jinyoung is the one who always proudly introducing himself as the omma. And it's just that he also happened to be full of aegyo and acts cute most of the time in front of camera for fanservice that i think, for people who just casually watching GOT7, they can't help but come to associate his omma role to the cute/pretty image while not knowing the meaning of the actual omma role.

 

@Pepi.. LMAO.. I saw yesterday many ppl were fangirling over Jinyoung's hand. Like seriously, everything about him is just worthy to be fangirled about. His face, his wrinkled eyes, his lips, his voice, his dance and..... Ok let me stop there since the list would go on and on and I think I'm starting to sound creepy.

Sometimes it feels like the position is forced upon him though! I get that it's his nature to look out and care for his members/ppl close to him. But it annoys me when he has to act like the feminine figure on broadcasting shows. 

 

On a lighter note, Jinyoungie has my heart ~~~but other GOT7 members are slowly creeping in and I sometimes feel guilty for stanning Jr. more than the other.   

 

Can't say much about this actually. I love seeing any sides of him, even the moody one, and can't actually complain about him doing cutesy aegyo thing on broadcast shows tbh since that side of him along with his wittiness somehow brought me to look up more about him in the first place and then next I found myself just fall in love with his talent and all. Haha.. But yeah.. I hope he can show his other sides (the one we only get to know more when we read FA's or interviews, etc) more too so people can see what we see in him, his gentleness, sexiness, passion and everything.

What kind of year was 2014 for GOT7? They debuted as singers, and promoted with three title tracks. They met thousands of fans, and they debuted in Japan. It must have been quite an overwhelming year for these boys with an average age of 20. In Yeouido on the 5th, we met up with GOT7 that are wrapping up their promotions for their 1st full album 'Identify'. They have grown remarkably since we met them in January and even their speaking has matured.

 

GOT7 released their first full album but are ending their promotions after 3 weeks. GOT7's first full album shows off GOT7's identity. They express the emotions of 20-year-olds between being boys and men. JYP Entertainment showed off the charms of strong men through 2PM and now expressed the youthful charms of those around the same age as most idol fans through GOT7.

 

So the short promotion period is especially disappointing. Should they not have promoted longer when 2014 is full of strong rookie award nominees like WINNER and Akdong Musician? But GOT7's opinions are different. Member Jr. (full name Park Jinyoung) laughed as he said, "3 weeks can feel both long and short. We would like it if we can promote for a long period of time. But I think it would be even greater if we are able to show off diverse sides through stages at year-end ceremonies. I think we also successfully showed off a new aspect of GOT7 through the 'Stop Stop It' concept". Their plan is to give happiness to fans through various sides of themselves in year-end ceremonies rather than long promotions.

They said that 'Stop Stop It' promotions brought surprise to GOT7. They debuted in January and went over to Japan and debuted there in April. Promoting abroad even before finding their place domestically can be dangerous for rookie groups. Jr. said, "Because we promoted a lot abroad after our debut, we had let go of the expectation of gaining popularity with the release of our first full album". However, GOT7 members say that they were surprised after the release of the 'Stop Stop It' music video and album showcase when they saw all the fans that still waited for them. "We had the thought that we couldn't disappoint the fans that had high expectations for us. We wanted to work harder and show them greater sides of ourselves".

 

The first full album is usually the one that breaks down stereotypes of idol group albums with high quality. It is also disappointing to GOT7 that all of the songs that fill this album could be forgotten after these promotions. "As the digital music market has developed, the number of people listening to full albums have decreased. It would be great if people could listen to all songs on the album several times, but it would be nice even if people listened to a few songs that we recommend." Member Jr.'s song recommendation is 'Stay'. "If 'Stop Stop It' has a darker vibe, 'Stay' is a refreshing song. I think it will be fun if you listen to it together with the title song".

 

Will we be able to see them again soon? Member Jackson said, "We want to comeback as soon as possible". However, it is impossible to say yet when their next promotions will be. However, they are preparing hard for year-end ceremonies. When thinking of year-end performances for rookie boy groups, girl group dances come to mind. 2PM from their company surprised fans when they were rookies by showing cute images of themselves with their hair tied and pink cheeks. When asked if GOT7 will follow that road that their sunbaes took, "We will do it even more cutely than hyungs" with laughs full of aegyo. "2PM hyungs are tall. We are sort of little and cute so I think it will be fun to watch."

 

When asked to summarize these promotions in one phrase, Jr. exclaimed, "Promotions that brought GOT7 a step closer to our identity!"
