- First impression when you met each other?
Mark: When I first came to Korea, he greeted me in English: "My name is Park Jinyoung!" I didn’t know his real name so I thought: "Why is he saying JYP’s name?"
Jr: Despite this, I tried speaking in English since you came from America (laughs). Mark has fair skin but back in those days, he was darker. That made me feel something freely and I thought "he’s a different type of person from me." I’m from Busan but even coming to Seoul was a cultural shock already. So seeing someone who came from America feels like seeing someone who came from a different star.

- By the way, why was Mark so tanned then?
Mark: I like going to the beach in the summer.
Jr: There’s a sea in front of our house. I used to go fishing very often but I never got tanned like that (laughs).

- Please, tell us each other’s good traits.
Mark: Jr. is very kind and good at taking care of someone.
Mark & Jr: (look at each other and laugh.)
Mark: It’s just a small thing… but he always asks me: "did you eat already?" 

- A guy who’s caring/full of concern is liked by everyone.
Mark: Yes, yes. That’s why everyone likes Jr.
Jr: Mark is the oldest but you won’t feel there’s a wall between you. He treats even the younger ones as friends even though our maknae Yugyeom is younger than him by four years. Being that open is wonderful, even more so you’ll still feel that he’s an older brother. That’s why he’s so popular!

- Please, tell us a surprising thing about each other that only you both know.
Mark: I think honesty is our charm. Not being able to lie about ourselves might be our charm. That’s why I can’t think of anything that’s surprising about us.

- 2PM also said the same thing.
Jr: Maybe because it’s a JYP style. There’s no such thing as surprising about us! GOT7 is what GOT7 is.

- If you were to give a name to this pair, what would it be?
Jr: Angel Project (laughs) just kidding.
Mark: MaJin. From “Mark†and “Jr.â€

- What kind of performance would MaJin want to show everyone?
Jr: I’m going to sing while sitting down. So Mark, please flip over and over around me. Mark is in charge of tough things that require strength.
Mark: For me, a love song would be good. Wouldn’t a soft ballad be good?
Jr: A soft ballad with a hip-hop atmosphere would be good, too!

- Both of you are famous among your fans for being close. Why do you get along so well?
Jr: I wonder why? We’re always like this. I feel comfortable when I’m with Mark. He’s trustworthy and he’s very caring. Every morning he wakes me up, "Jr. wake up~ wake up~" 

- Oh, he can be a handful.
Mark: Jr.? No, not just Jr. but everyone (laughs). 

 

- Rate your compatibility with each other

Jr: 5 stars. ("... Well, we're always together so... Haha.")

JB: When we first met, Jr. was very innocent? (laughs)
Jr: Surprisingly, JB was someone who did what he wanted.

- First impressions?
Jr: Ah… impression, actually… um (laughs), my first impression was ‘his practice style is different from mine’ that time, his practice and dance styles are different now. I’m the kind of person who practices non-stop. JB has times when he practices and also times when he doesn’t (laughs).
JB: It was like that at that time but now I’m different. My impression of Jr. was ‘this person is innocent and sincere.’

- What do you think of each other now?
JB: We were quite compatible that time, but now, it seems to have slowly changed? Maybe because we all grew up.
Jr: Yup, now we’re ‘real men’! (laughs)

- Talk about each other’s strengths.
JB: … (thinks for a long time)

- It can’t be that hard, there isn’t any?
JB: I’m thinking about this very seriously. Jr. has a lot of ideas and always gives constructive opinions.

- Any recent events that showed this?
JB: We got scolded by the dance crew’s sunbaes not long ago. I was going to tell the members about it but Jr. told everyone to ‘practice seriously’ and gathered them together. That was when I felt that way.

- Jr. is so cool!
Jr: I think so, too (laughs)

- What are JB’s strengths?
Jr: I thought about it a lot when JB was answering. JB is someone who really understands himself. For example, what he likes and dislikes, what he should do now, things like that. In this time, he’s the one who has learnt the most.

- What would you name your duo? It’s alright to say JJ Project, too.
JB: I think JJ Project is good.

- If it’s a duo, what kind of performance do you want to show?
JB: Probably singing and dancing. Leave the martial acts and the tricking to GOT7, for the both us, I just want to showcase fantastic singing and dancing skills.

- Before debuting as GOT7, you promoted as JJ Project. Now that it’s seven members, when do you feel that promoting as seven is not bad?
Jr: It should be how we share everything with the seven members. We learned a lot while promoting as JJ Project, precisely because it was more difficult as two, so we honed our skills too. It also gave me a chance to think about myself, but we also had to do everything on our own. With seven members, we divide the parts into seven people, so it feels like there’s more leisure now. Like this, we have more time to think about what we want to do and practice on our own parts.

- JJ Project compatibility rating.
JB: 5 stars.
Jr: 5 stars.
