SM used to be the house of the #1 groups always, boy groups and girl groups. This year I noticed that soon SM wont have #1 groups anymore. While companies are actually taking time and effort to promote their groups, trying to make public friendly songs and sending members to top variety shows, using and abusing of all platforms they can to promote. SM has been tossing around forgetful songs, promoting their artists work with 3 tweets and pitching their artists against each other on charts all that while they build shops and release overpriced anything they can put their artists logo on. Ok they are their artists so SM can do whatever they want but its not fair to them either. Lets talk about the groups that are SM's future: NCT has 100 units that were poorly promoted, no one outside their fandom can even mention more than 4 members out all of then. Red Velvet was the group with super digital potential but nope... ICC was their ride to success, SM failed to keep the momentum now they are doing good with RR but where is the promo? Members in Variety Shows? Youtube series? Anything? Seulgi is a great dancer, where was she on Hit The Stage? EXO is SM's future savior or is supposed to be but still....Their songs are becoming forgetful too, the first solo (of an active member) and the first unit SM had to debut them in the same month??? Oh and btw... Shinee's comeback? Did it even happen? Look at how many artists SM has lined up only for november, they have no focus Click here to view the Tweet tl;dr: SM has been all over the place lately, not promoting any of their artists right wich is disrespectful to their artists and fans also it will cost them the #1 company position soon since other groups from other companies are starting to overtake their most successful groups and they dont seem to be able to bring their newer groups to rise. waffles8000 541 Posted October 28, 2016 Share Posted October 28, 2016 its not gonna cost them their #1 position imo, its just that they are going in a different direction. they are trying to set trends instead of follow them, which is cool, but it is difficult to be successful with a new type of sound. they are using their relevance and popularity to promote the new sound, so if it catches in it will be huge, but if it doesnt then they really won't lose that much.... like taeyeon and why wasnt very popular but people still anticipate her bc they know her potential Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
