Article: [Exclusive Interview] DSP's notice of release, Nicole says "It wasn't easy accepting the fact that it was farewell..."

1. [+5,477, -367] Hul, she wasn't withdrawing but released??

2. [+4,174, -401] Good ã…  How could DSP just erlease her like that, she said so herself that she wants to promote with KARA

3. [+3,454, -256] I liked Nicole the most out of the group... How disappointing.

4. [+2,918, -325] The entertainment industry is so scary... KARA was considered top tier but look at how they're crumbling now...

5. [+857, -76] People aren't getting the point... What DSP meant with the release is that they don't think it makes sense for Nicole to be promoting with KARA under a different agency;;;

6. [+837, -64] Nicole's naive to think that she can still promote with KARA when she's the only one under a different agency.

Article: Nicole's picture deleted from KARA... her empty space hits hard

Source: X Sports News via Nate

1. [+604, -112] Meanwhile, Goo Hara was sitting around taking selcas yesterday because it was her birthday ã…‹ã…‹ Not that that's wrong but it's a bit inappropriate given KARA's current situation ã…‹ã…‹ While her own members are going through disbandment and withdrawal issues, she's holding up a cake and taking selcas?? ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

2. [+431, -20] The lifespan of idols is not long, especially so for female idols. Gotta make the cash fast while you're young and get out voluntarily like Nicole so you can still find a new job for yourself.

3. [+403, -19] KARA's agency is so.... dumb. I feel like they're just a collection of people who don't know how to use their heads.

Article: 'KARA withdrawal' Nicole to prepare for her solo album in America at the end of the month

Source: Newsen via Nate

1. [+291, -23] KARA is the one group in all of Korea that would fail the minute they went into individual promotions ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ Can't sing, act, and it's not like they can just go on variety shows for the rest of their careers ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ There's really no solution ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

2. [+205, -17] Let's be real, a solo will be difficult for her...

3. [+182, -25] She has no charms on her own...

They aren't lying with all the shade and reading they are doing. KARA is a group that I love really much but once they are on their own they become quiet dull but out of all the girls I think Nicole had the greatest chance going solo based off of what I think about the 5 solo album collection.

I wish she'd stop talking about DSP, I think this 'looking like a victim' tactic she's decided to adopt is below her and could also come back to haunt her in the future.

Everyone seems to be talking about how dumb DSP is (which I can't refute) but I doubt they would have just let her go without trying to at least compromise, even just from what I've heard and read, it just seemed like she was demanding too much and not willing to properly negotiate with DSP. But I blame that on her greedy, overly ambitious mum rather than on her. Just think about it this way- if someone in your bias group had made the same demands as she did, how likely do you it is that their demands would have been met? Yeah- not very. So why is DSP the bad guy for doing something that most other companies also wouldn't even have considered? (BEG are not really considered idols and thus don't have the same restrictions that most idol groups have placed on them, thus are in a completly different position)

I wish her all the luck in her endeavours, cause the odd of her being a successful solo are not stacked in her favour.

6. [+837, -64] Nicole's naive to think that she can still promote with KARA when she's the only one under a different agency.

this ... naive is the perfect word to use. Did she really think that DSP wanted to get involved in more outside contracts, and get really messy with money? They would have to take time out to sit in negotiations with another entertainment company...and come to an agreement about

divvying out profits

splitting promotion costs (which would mean giving another company a % of artistic direction for Kara...which is ridiculous)

negotiate artist control (she would be an artist promoting with their group, but under a completely different set of wide range guidelines and practices which might not coincide with DSPs)

'retainment'

among other things....and that is just in South Korea... they'd have to do it again 3ways in Japan.

Why would DSP in their right mind, want to engage in any of that....especially when it would cause so many inevitable problems down the road?

On top of that, why would DSP want to start relinquishing any revenue from their group? Another company would be effectively making money off of DSP "intellectual property" simply because they signed an entertainer that DSP established and she's still promoting in a group DSP established?

C'mon man.

Nicole (and likely her mother) put way too much stock in her own eminence, in a revolving door system.

People calling DSP dumb.... why... smart business was to sever ties here.

why do ppl think that dsp will let her sign another contract with other agency and continue as kara? lol.

cost of kara activities will not be shared with nicole new agency and they have to accommodate with nicole solo activity will be a hell of a problem for dsp.

honestly, it was a bit of a stretch to hope that Nicole could continue as a kara member while under different management. I think of a group like SS501 (who are technically not disbanded, but all their members are under different management) is the only group to pull it off.

But in the end, this still falls at the feet of DSP. Even as a casual fan, I noticed nicole got absolutely ZERO solo activities since the 2011 contract dispute while every other group member has magazine photo spreads, variety show guest spots, drama roles etc. And then the whole waterbottle controversy (which nicole was not even there for). At some point, she realized she was wasting time sitting on her hands on a sinking ship and decided to bail.
