As soon as I saw the title I thought about them.

 

I think they're not that popular internationally for 4 reasons:

1) They mostly release ballads

2) Their songs are mostly in Korean (especially recently)

3) They don't promote as idols + they only have 2 members

4) They're not from a big company

It comes completely down to international fans writing off ballads even from their favourite groups as boring and formulaic. I think the members of Davichi possessed enough to hit it off with us (both are pretty, top talent and took part in individual activities especially Minkyung who was trending in Korea often) and were from a company surrounded by idol groups to give them the exposure.

 

Davichi may be one of the rare cases of proof that our community really can be considered music driven.

Yeah, Davichi are super talented and they make great music. It's a shame that they don't have many fans outside of Korea. But it's not just them though, kpop fans usually don't support soloist/duos that aren't originally from a group. There are only a few exceptions as IU and Ailee.

yeah, some of us struggling quite hard to keep this tiny international fandom going. but i'm not too worry about it, they're standing on the foundation called "quality". they're true musician, and it's already proven that so many people love their music.

 

their goal was to become 'Trustworthy Davichi'. it's like "Davichi just released new song? if it's Davichi, then we must check it out." (cr. KBS1 Concert Feel 2013). well, i think they've achieved it.
