bts' surprising melon stability: is blood sweat and tears exhibiting longevity?

this is a sceenshot of melon from about an hour ago. what i find interesting about this is that you can see how BS&T is charting throughout an 11 hour period. as you can see,  BS&T stays at a steady position throughout that entire time period. it doesn't plummet at certain hours, or rise really high at certain hours, it just stays on it's steady pathway as it fluctuates between #1 and #8 on the real time chart due to other songs rising at certain hours.

this is the first time a bts song has had this kind of stability and i can't help but wonder if it will be short lived, or if BS&T can stick it out to become bts' most successful title to date.

the traction is there so here's to hoping for the best.

it makes sense though, a lot of people are listening to their music

i've seen a lot of people here on OH say that bts have no public recognition and im no expert myself, but when so many young teenagers stan a specific boyband, how are these fans not considered a part of the general public? fans are part of the korean society too, and when a group has such a noteworthy number of fans i'd say that translates into public recognition tbh

This

People act like people in their 10's and 20's are not part of the general public...you can also see that over 40% of their listeners are men.

Because those young ones belong to the group "target audience". When you start to get public wide recognition from people who are not your target, those people are the ones refered to as general public.

am i crazy or did this not happen with fire?

BST is definitely doing better than Fire did in the first couple of weeks (BST has never left the top 10 even at peak hours (aside from a glitch), fire went down to the 20s at some point earlier than this) but if you just mean it having a stable number of listeners without really fluctuating, I think yes.

Here's a SS of Fire on Melon from May 19 (18 days (2 weeks and 4 days) after release) @ 4am:

It was also very steady in the # of listeners it had~
