The first ep was really good, I watched it un subbed first and I was still laughing, and absorbed by everything going on, as expected the army is very strict and tough! I like the whole team, not just Tao, I saw enough to be interested in each one's development, I like that there are women on the show.

 

Tao was a highlight for me too, he was is usual warm, cute and mischievous self:

 

 

And he seems to have found a kindred spirit and partner in crime Sun Yang, the olympic gold medalist, who is also fond of games, giggly, and playful, I'm looking forward to see more of these two's antics. They were already teasing each other in the first ep.

I feel bad for Li Rui because he's much older than the rest and he's trying hard to keep up on the pace. And Tong Liya is practically exhausted because she delivered a baby a couple months ago :(

Tao did mention in an interview that if he had not become an idol, he would have likely joined the military. That roll was awesome. He did that after only being taught by the instructor just once. Tao's personality is one of a kind. I just love it.

I wasn't expecting to like this show so much. The whole cast is really charming, I liked Sun Yang the most. I also think Shen Mengchen is the cutest, of the girls she seemed most relaxed.

Yang Mi's attempt at giving their leader a nickname was hilarious, his blank face was epic and she has such a good memory.

Tao telling his squad leader he looks 30! It's true though he looks older than 21 by far.

 

I'm glad to hear the show did so well on its premiere, I saw that Tao was still trending on weibo at #5, more than 24hrs after the show aired. Tao was definitely a highlight of the show for me but the whole cast is really solid with good chemistry.

 

A lot of good comments about the show and cast on weibo, I hope it keeps getting better. I'm anticipating the next episode, they left in such a cliffhanger, I really want to know what happened.

Actually when I was watching the olympics I  thought sun yang was a mega asshole tbh lol..... but now I just think he's a tad bit of one...
