1. Cinderella's Sister (2010)
Kim Soo Hyun was cast for the role of Han Jung Woo, a character who has one-sided love for Song Eun Jo (Moon Geun Young). His casting fell through and the role went to Ok Taecyeon.

2. The Moon Embracing the Sun (2012)
Kim Soo Hyun and Moon Geun Young were both considered for the lead roles.
The synopsis and script went into her agency but never actually reached Moon Geun Young.
Joo Won was also originally cast for the role of Prince Yangmyung. In the end, Han Ga In got the lead role.

Kim Soo Hyun was offered the role of Prince Sado but he declined. Moon Geun Young was set to play the role Prince Sado's wife Lady Hyegyeong, and there were viewers eager to see the two of them finally meet however,Yoo Ah In and Moon Geun Young's casting were met with rave reviews.

Daum Cafe:  Actor and actress who keep getting cast together but never actually get paired

-Woah ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ Please do a drama together before Kim Soo Hyun enlists

-I wish she had starred with Kim Soo Hyun in TMETS

-All the more reason for them to be paired up

-Would've been daebak if Moon Geun Young did TMETS, her acting is way better than Han Ga In

-Thank goodness Kim Soo Hyun turned down 'The Throne'. I can't imagine anyone else playing Prince Sado other than Yoo Ah In

Wait what?! Soohyun was the first choice in 'The Throne' but he declined it?! That movie was the work that made Yoo Ah In's great acting known. He got so many positive reviews because of that film. And he won his Daesang because of that film too. Glad YAH accepted that role then. Although I believe KSH could have also acted that role well.

Kim Soo Hyun has already too many awards in his hands, so I think it's great that he'd declined it and the casting went to yet another deserving actor who doesn't have a lot yet in his hands. Hmmm, this makes me want to see dramas of Yoo Ah In. He's really big these days, but I haven't seen any dramas he was in yet -_____-

omg, hopefully they'll end up working together!!!!! I think that would be epic. Hopefully Kim Soo Hyun will star in another drama early next year - so heartbroken he's not in the small screen this year T__T I got so used to seeing Soo Hyun yearly since 2011 - it feels lacking not see him in the small screen this year.  :rlytearpls:

You are right!! I am actually glad too that KSH declined 'The Throne' because YAH was amazing in that movie. The role suited him perfectly. And this movie made him big and made him garner so much praise for his acting and that Daesang award. Another project I was glad KSH declined was 'Warewolf's Boy'. KSH was actually the first choice for 'Warewolf's Boy' but he declined it and the role went to Song Joong Ki and this was the movie that made Song Joong Ki more well known and have gotten so much positive reviews in his acting. I just feel like SJK and PBY was the perfect cast in that movie too.

I think everything ended well because SJK and YAH was perfect for those roles so I am glad it went to them. And now KSH, SJK and YAH are probably now 3 of the most famous stars on their generation who people acknowledge their acting talents too.
