It's not really a cover tbh with new arrangement, instruments & even chord progression. Not to mention the lyric isn't the same (the same theme but with different word choices). If Okdal really decided to sing this version they would need to register DAY6 as co-authors. That's why Soundtrack project mentions re-written not covered songs.

But if one pays attention DAY6 almost always does just that musically if not lyrically with the songs they cover. They often mix songs, add adlibs & change arrangements drastically.

/Tbh they are the only one who covered The Beatles & I loved it/
