I'm really interested to hear this, because I never thought about names sounding "weird" or "ugly" or "cool" in Korean. Does anyone know anything about this? muffjins 101 Posted October 21, 2016 Share Posted October 21, 2016 i think for females, the more softer sounding names would be "prettier" so hwa is very soft sounding whereas something like seok would be a little harder and abrupt (not sure if they even use seok for female names) therefore hwa would be a prettier name (also since it means flower) but seok would be a more masculine-sounding name Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
