Why isn't Got7 getting Popular?

This is a serious question, because/ I just read the old jyp vs new jyp thread.

I am thinking about how 2PM so SO relevant, even before they had a hit song, they had hella fans and I remember seeing htem all around the internet before I even liked kpop. Its been a couple years but Got7 doesn't have that same effect? Is it JYP promotion orrr? What's going on?

Boy groups now a days have a lot of prejudice going against them

non of them really connect with the GP besides Big bang, Block B or BTOB

mix that with that fact that they do not do typical Korean liked songs and a lot of their members are not Korean and there you go

Their music, it doesn't  even have a signature sound yet. You would never tell the group who did A also did Hard Cary. The guys are good at variety they have talented members both vocally and in dancing. They have all they need but the music. Give them the right song, promote it well and they'll hit it big. They've been increasing their international fanbase like crazy though so something is working.

Meh I feel like we discuss this every month. I'd be worried if their fan bases weren't growing but since they are, I'm not concerned that aren't as recognized as 2pm was on their peak period. Plus given the time and situations, I don't know if comparing the status of 2pm in their peak is fair.

because they went from if you do to hardcarry  :._.:

its not If You Do was a major hit in Korea either. Given the fact that theirpre potential public friendly songs didn't equate to mega success, Idk what would give them that major hit.

Unpopular how?

They have one of the highest album sales, and they've seen their most success with a song people seem to think is not them in Hard Carry and with their comeback before that in Fly.

Do they have a "hit song" yet? No but t each comeback they do better and better internationally and domestically.

This is the first comeback that silver ahgase's which is mostly I-fans can't even get fansign's or music show's or not all gold ahgase's which is the Korean fanbase can get in.

I'm not a fan of hardcarry, but it sure did outsell if you do by a large margin. Also, nothing changed digitally, as in ranks and charting. So it's not like they downgraded in results. And people are really outspoken about if you do, but did these same people even buy the MAD album during that era if they loved it so much? lol

I loved if you do from them, but I just find it funny how people want them to go back to that concept when there wasn't that much support for it. Technically, Just right got them the most relevance amongst international fans.
