After the tremendous success of PSY and his Gangnam Style, the boys band BTS is the new Artist born from the South Korean idol factory which produce stars meant to conquer the world.

 

If you keep an eye on the iTunes chart Canada, you have probably noticed these last days, between some recent publications like Green Day or Bon Iver, some south Korean characters under the album title Wings. In the MV chart, you could also see the same type of inscription under the MV Blood sweat and tears which has top that Apple ITunes chart.

 

Even though they do not have the same impact than Psy, BTS members are clearly on their way to become a world star. After Asia, America is following the move. Indeed, BTS has started to appear on the Billboard chart these last 2 years.

 

Nothing to chance

 

They are seven, aged between 19 and 23 years old and they have been recruited by BH entertainment not only for their talent as rappers or dancers but also for their irreproachable look.

 

Smooth skin, hair perfectly done with shinny colours and with a matching make-up, nothing is left to chance so that JIN, SUGA, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and JK can appeal to teenager girls.

 

The interest for BTS was instantaneous as soon as they released their first single, no more dreams, in June 2013. Since then, they’ve released for mini-albums, two full albums and they’ve done lucrative tours in Asia and they’ve appeared many times on south Korean TV. Big brands like PUMA have signed with the septet.

 

They write their own songs

 

Even though they are a direct product of the idol mould, the seven young men willingly say their style (a mix between Hip-Hop and R&B) is different from other K-Pop artists because they write their own lyrics. “That’s why we are also able to express our own ideas and our own musical sensibility in our songs and videosâ€, said J-Hope in an interview with Billboard. However, this creative liberty has his setbacks; indeed, their label was forced to apologize for misogynistic lyrics in their songs Joke and War of Hormone. Let’s hope that these seven young men have learnt their lessons after that.

I understand what they are saying but my English is not so good. They are talking about K-pop idol image, nothing is random , everything  is studied, insists on every detail (special eye make-up, colorful hairstyles intricately designed etc.) so that the members can have a polished image and gain the attention of teen crowd.

I'm proud. This is amazing. I've been an ARMY for only 1 year and seeing them getting bigger and bigger like now is really heartwarming. I can't imagine how older ARMYs feel right now. I'm so happy.
