Why do other POC look down on Black People?

I'm curious. I always see PC fighting for acceptance and validation from white people ect, but when it comes to black people I notice many POC look down on people of African Descent. From their skin to their hair to their facial features, african=bad.

Even in some cases I'll see a lot of POC whining about why white people don't want to date them but would go into cardiac arrest if someone brought up the idea of them dating a black person.

Why is this? Feel free to share your honest opinions here, I have never heard the perspective of other POC on this matter.

It's just ingrained in a lot of culture to like pale skin more (the classic notion of poor = works in sunlight often = darker = more undesirable). Of course the eventual westernization of stuff did not help as many countries were going through there own race issues back then.

More than just that though, I think it also has to do with the idea that African/Black = poor/thugs and anybody white = rich/educated mentality. It has a lot to do with how the media portrays racial groups. I think if more mainstream media had better representation of black people, it would help a lot since that's often the only contact some have with black people.

I've noticed a lot of POC tend to look down on each other in general... but a lot of the times when POC look down on each other, it's because of conflicts between countries or political issues. Sadly antiblackness is still rampant in POC communities due to misconceptions and harmful stereotypes. The other day my dad was ranting to me about how the adults in my predominantly Asian neighborhood's group chat were talking about how a suspicious black person was walking around because we have a black family in our neighborhood and how would they feel if their own neighbor's were labeling people as sketchy because they were black? :(

but then they get mad when black people dont represent them it's like they want us to take the bullet if things go bad but if things go well we're selfish for not standing up for them as well

damn right.

i see a lot of palestinians going like `'why dont u fight for our cause!!!11 free palestine!!!" but then they call us abeed behind our backs(abeed is the arabic word for slave).

Also

cause in real life they be like this

you're really stupid the media is known for wanting to glorify every single bad/wrong thing a poc does but when it comes to white people they moderate it so it won't look like they're being biased but we all know the truth and you're just as ugly as the media for doing this.

cause white imperalism.

we're at the very bottom. every community and culture is anti-black idc what u guys have to say to defend urself.

we're the opposite of white which in many people's mind is ingrained as smart, clean, kind, pure.

Yeah I found that out the hard way. I went with my family to India a few years back. I noticed my cousins were getting treated....harshly? I thought it was just a coincidence with them getting the rude workers until I realized the reason my sister, my father, and I were being treated differently was because they didn't think we were black. We have lighter skin, light eyes, and different features than them and I was just in shock?

Because a couple of them had darker skin than some of my family members but I was mostly raised to think racism was a white thing. I never knew until then that anti-black was something that extended across the globe.
