What are some Idols that Define eras of Kpop for you?

I'm not talking about idols that have been popular forever like BB or SNSD, I'm talking about the small time-ish idols that have similar concepts and come together to make kpop what it is at the point in time. So like,

2009-2012

Teen Top, B2ST, BAP, MBLAQ (I really just remember boy groups dominating at this time because I wasn't into kpop and the i-fan community at the time was heavily BG biased)

2013-2015

AOA, Girl's Day, Stellar, Apink, EXID (sexy concepts everywhere with a random apink stuck in the middle)

And you?

They're not small, but for some reason I always think of SHINee when people talk about kpop's golden era. Like, instead of Gee, Sorry Sorry, Nobody, I am the Best etc, I always think of Ring Ding Dong as the most iconic song from back then lol

Oh, yeah. I know what you mean. I think its because they were the most "of that era" at the time?

Random memory: In 2011 I asked my Japanese member what 'Shin' meant because I noticed Shinee would always have it capitalized (SHINee)

For 09-12 you mentioned bgs dominating but it was arguably all about ggs at the time. 2ne1, fx, after school, 4minute, Sistar, miss a etc all debuted around that time and were all quite successful and well known for a while.

I wasn't into kpop at that time and I only saw MVs from my BG biased friends.
