LisaVandercunt 19 Posted October 13, 2016 Share Posted October 13, 2016 The struggle is real for me, it's getting to the point where I'm even contemplating leaving school for a while to focus on my career. I regret how completing my Associate's, I transfer out from a community college to a 4 year school and its hard! I'm not struggling when it comes to the actual course work but its the time management that is an issue for me. I have classes twice a week; Mon & Wed from 4:10-8:45PM, and I work anywhere from 40-50 hours a week. There have been times during summer where I worked 60 hours. I'm so happy that the semester is halfway done and there's only really November left cause the 1st week of December is gonna go fast and then its finals and that's it until end of January. Starting in spring I think I'll be a part time student and take 2 classes per semester cause I just can't do it like this anymore. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

shocking blue 7,514 Posted October 13, 2016 Share Posted October 13, 2016 I had to drop to part time because it was too stressful, I'm extending my 4 year course to 5 and a half years and its honestly the best decision I've made. You're working 40-50 hours which is insane to me, I don't even know how you have time to fit studies into that schedule! I'm in college and I work 2 part time jobs and while it is a lot sometimes, it's enough for me to manage. I work around 10-20 hours a week. Best of luck and I hope you get proper sleep, sleep makes all the difference I got used to the schedule. I was beyond thrilled to finally have a job and a good one and its something that I enjoy. I never thought that I'd be working in the hospitality industry but I really love it. I was unemployed for so so long and this opportunity came when I least expected. I went from being an intern, to being a supervisor to being a manager all in a span of 2 years. Reason why I picked afternoon/evening classes is so that I can sleep and rest during the day before heading to class. My work hours can be pretty long but when its busy the hours fly by fast! However when its slow it just drags on and on. For example this upcoming Sunday I know I'm gonna be alone in my department so I'll be probably at work for 11-12 hours. I do live with my parents because I do not want to be roommates with someone or pay 1500$+ for a studio apartment. Besides I'm 25 so time to become an adult and get my shit together. I had to go to university 4 days in a row till 5PM sometimes and then I had to go straight and do my fixed part-time job from 6PM till 11PM but gradually I got used to this. Having no classes for 3 days in a row helped me a lot besides I always had this "learn at the class and practice on the weekends" mindset. I work 3 times a week and they have been giving me 20-30 hrs a week loland i go to class tues and thurs from 2:30-5:30 but the teacher releases us pretty early at times lol like an hour before and wed from 9:00-12:45 but this teacher releases me like an hour before lolAnd i take a class online too! And i write essays each week *cries* But i wouldnt say its too terrible, but im just constantly working and at times i dont have sleep lol But yeah 40-50 hrs a week is ridic like forreal, i wouldnt even do that and Im a part time worker lol Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
