During a live session with the cast and production team of “Reply 1988,†at the tvN10 Festival on Sunday, the producer and director of the series, Shin Won-ho, announced, “We are working on the ‘Reply 1988’ DVD and preparing for the next season, which will air next year.†In addition, actor Sung Dong-il, who played the role of the father in the past three seasons, revealed that he wanted AOA member Seolhyun to be his next daughter. The casting has not started, no audition and pretty sure the scriptwriter has not started writing for the new installement yet so the media better stop this quick. Seolhyun has had lead roles in dramas and she wasn't that good in them. Have you watched all of her works tho? She starred in Gangnam Blues with Lee Minho last year and she nailed her part. Also her first drama ever My daughter Seoyoung got really good reviews, it was from 2012 so not sure if its fair to judge her based on ONE work of her you watched. Reply isnt about being the best actress either, the magic is all due to the scripwriting, directing and producing behind it...this is why some lead actors shined in there but were average in their next projects...you just have to be decent at acting and more importantly suit the role. Deoksun character was written with Hyeri in mind so she got to portray a character that was the closest to her real life personality. Also if you had watched Seolhyun acting gigs before you'd know she's a decent actress who just needs polishing and a suitable role. And please even Yoona managed to shut everybody up with her acting in the K2, people can improve. I know you arent hating on her. Reply is a big deal but I trust the PD when it comes to the casting. Being a fan of the series myself, I know they arent corrupted and will truly choose those who fit the roles the scriptwriter had in mind. Seolhyun might not be the best but if she auditions and gets the role, it will truly be because she was a good fit for that particular role and this, no matter what we think of her in general. Nothing has been confirmed yet and the installement is still in the works so its too early to even discuss this tbh, k-media are just doing the most to get her unnecessary hate. Much love to Seolhyun but Mina is better at acting than Seolhyun is. Mina has a natural versatility. I watched her on a few things now and her acting was really good. A good show of Mina's acting was in "All about my mom". Mina played the role of a rather bad person and the comments were hating on her character. If someone playing a bad role can bring that kind of response out of the viewers then they are acting the role just right. I need to stop. I do understand and agree with you. I understand you are not hating. Originally I was only speaking of those people that judge Seolhyun on OM and haven't seen her other works. She has done quite good on other things and had praise from actors and directors. Although I do actually agree she would not be right for that role.
