Should Music Shows be a thing in America?

I just realized the bulk majority of performances come from

A. Concerts

B. Award Shows

C. The Today Show

Obviously, the biggest stars would rarely-- if ever perform on the shows but its kind of the same way for every other South Korean act other than SNSD lol. But I do think they would attract the fans of mid-tier acts and I think they would be happy to perform. The music show would run like any other SK music show...once a week. Perform 1 or more songs and then next artist, ect. You also have to remember that music shows are mostly for the fans, and growing a fandom via music shows is the primary focus.

What do you think and who would you want to see?

They used to but then MTV decided to put reality shows instead

oh yeah TRL and BET

I feel like the artists would feel to above being committed to that shit every week. much less if they had to prepare for it

right right, i think american artists have a sense of superiority. they especially wouldn't perform on the same stage as some nugu or something, the way south korean artists do.

It would be fun, but I don't see it working in America. Not a lot of people would want to watch the show unless the top music acts were on it. And I think western artists would find it unnecessary to perform on the same show several times. Also mainstream music is much slower so I don't think they could get enough artists for each week.

I feel like it might work on Disney Channel/Nickelodeon, but not with major artists, I think most don't care enough about extreme promotion to come every week or even to come more then once and would rather have "exclusive supriour real artist image" (like Beyonce releasing her albums in secret) so there wouldn't be enough artists to fit each weak

American artists go on TV shows to perform, like the late night ones. Even the indie artists. I actually prefer that. I don't always enjoy sitting throug the entirety of the Korean music shows so I end up just watching the single performances once they're uploaded on YouTube anyway.
