Do not forget GOT7 is no.3 in gaon digital

i mean

They probably just beat them in every other section. It's not like music shows are based on chart positions alone.

im only talking about digitals though

idc if they win or not

but the digital section just didnt make sense

They dominated elsewhere, Bugs for example, digitally. Fans worked their asses of to keep them up on bugs and in the top 100 on all the other charts. It added up.

It wasn't meant to last for long though, again fans did their best to support them, but they'll drop low next week without a doubt.

We still don't know it they change it or not but if it's true as what I've said in the other thread, I can sense a backlash from general public. You all know Inkigayo and Music bank are heavily rely on Digital Sales which means = General Public to determine the winner. It's a digital oreiented public show unlike The Show or Mnet. Inkigayo is held every Sunday which means more GP are watching it. If the winners keep winning in that show because of Fandom votes the credibility of that show for GP will go down because the winner's Song is not even known by the GP hence a decrease in viewers rating.

Same thing happen when peoples questioning exo and miss a last year...

This is the answer at that time

Gaon stated in early years that the their digital chart was based on earnings. If their digital chart is still based on earnings then it could make sense as to the rankings. Korean charts are different from most others. They offer different package deals at different prices which means your downloads and streams could ultimately be worth more or less. If you buy the most logical option of $10 a month for unlimited streaming and 100 downloads then your downloads aren't worth much. But if you're only a fan of say a few groups and purchase a package for $5 a month for unlimited streaming and 30 downloads then the money you pay per download increases. I'm pretty sure there is also a stand-alone plan where you can single purchase music without having a subscription but it doesn't make sense to do that. You can pay like 60 cents for one song or just pay $5 and get dozens more songs.  However if you have a fanbase like EXO, the fans would be willing to pay for the cheaper package if they ONLY want to download and stream EXO songs (however this cheaper package would simultaneously give more money to EXO) That way even if EXO has less downloads, overall they still got more money from the downloads that other acts who primarily got their downloads from cheaper sources.  cr. ichien @ OH

they both say the same thing, but should answer your question.

It's mean vote will give u max 10k points?

no. got7, apink and park hyoshin's combined votes are over 12k so it is most likely unlimited.

---------------

i thought this was explained multiple times. the digital ranking is based on revenue. revenue per song is higher when it is downloaded individually which was the exact thing done by got7 fans because they only wanted to download got7's song and it's pointless to buy a package because only the first download will count on gaon. while apink's song was mostly listened by casual listeners who probably bought a package of 100 downloads for a certain price so they pay less per download.

and about melon, like i said previously, on each music site only the first download will count, so it's totally useless for one account to buy the same song multiple times on melon. igot7s collected funds to buy got7 song on different music sites to maximize download count. let's say the funds were distributed to 12k korean fans, each fan download once on all 8 music sites = 12k x 8 = 96k downloads. 12k downloads on melon and 12k downloads on bugs will result in different chart ranking. why? because melon owns the biggest pie in digital music market, so 12k downloads wont give them a spot in top100 weekly, meanwhile bugs is much smaller so 12k downloads will easily put them in top10 weekly. apink on the other hand, like most girl groups rely on casual listeners more than anything so their downloads on each music site will be proportional to actual digital music market share because casual listeners wont download the same song on all music sites, they will only download from one site. e.g apink have 145k downloads;  assuming melon currently has 55% of the market = about 80k downloads, and bugs around 7% = 10k downloads, multiple times higher than got7 on melon but lower than got7 on bugs.

tldr;

1. got7 too high on gaon digital? their fans buy song individually = higher revenue

2. got7 not in top 100 melon? they rely on fandom not casual listeners, so their downloads are more evenly distributed between different music sites since fans will buy the song from every site.
