I think I really like Astro Bunny, but I haven't decided yet. But I know for sure that I love the singer's cat dress in

三無 sounds good, and I agree it sounds like Astro Bunny but more layered. Astro Bunny electronics and sounds are actually very simple, which is part of why I'm not sure if I like them. It sounds like something anybody could do in a way.

 

But Astro Bunny songs are so catchy and well constructed. It's like they really know how to write a pop song. The fact that they make it sound easy is just more impressive in a way.

I like Astro Bunny a lot but i think they're a bit inconsistent. Sometimes they're really good but sometimes they're a little underwhelming. I'd agree that their stuff is a bit simple sometimes. The singer's previous band's music was kinda like that too. She was in a band called Cherry Boom that was kind of like a tamer, not as good version of Scandal or Stereopony (japanese girl bands)

I had never heard Cherry Boom before, they sound very different than Astro Bunny. I never would have guessed it was the same singer. Definitely never would have guessed it was the same songwriter, which makes me wonder who's doing which parts of the songwriting (did she write the Cherry Boom songs? Does she choose the chord progressions, or choose melodies for chord progressions given by the band? etc). Listening to them, I don't think I like them very much, but maybe I would have liked them when I was in high school listening to Paramore and had a crush on every goth girl that I met.

 

Hmm the Cherry Boom guitarist is named Gua ç“œ? Makes me wonder if there's a double meaning to the Astro Bunny song Goodbye Muggle å†è¦‹äº†éº»ç“œ. Which is my favorite Astro Bunny song, by the way.

2005 indie sound. Makes me nostalgic even though I never heard this song before last week. I can't place exactly what it reminds me of... The Apples In Stereo or Sufjan Stevens maybe. Or kind of, the Shins, Neutral Milk Hotel, or the Decemberists, but those bands tended to make darker themed music. It definitely sounds like 2005 to me.
