TFBOYS fans will be lining up just to see their boy in the film

I have several issues with this movie and most of them have to do with Matt Damon.

 

Why does he arrive in China and then somehow becomes their savior? That part where he "impresses" the Chinese with his skills was embarrassing.

 

Why is his acting so bad in this trailer? The delivery of those lines was horrendous.

 

I'm glad to see female soldiers but they only got one female credited as a huge character in the movie. Which sucks. 

 

Looking at the writers for the movie, of course it was written by white men and one of the writers of a movie that's similar to this (with the whole white savior bullshit), The Last Samurai. 

 

I read a comment that someone who watched the movie said (it was already tested in front of some people) and they confirmed my suspicions - Matt Damon is the white savior and the Chinese cast suffered from lack of screen time because they focused on him.

 

I'm just annoyed that Zhang Yimou finally has the budget and resources to make an epic movie and this is the story he chose to tell. 

 

At the very least, I hope the Chinese stars in the movie get good international exposure even when they're shafted in favor of the holy white man.

I'm changing my mind about this movie a bit. First trailer gave me another impression. I guess we should judge it after we see it. Maybe the trailer is deceiving.
