Help! Mac Users: What phones are you using?

Are the majority of you guys using an iPhone? I have to get a new phone soon, and while I want the iphone (for convenience and less problems with compatibility stuff), I'm not entirely opposed to using another brand like Samsung or Sony.

What phones are you guys using, and are there any compatibility issues?

I'm thinking about the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini.... anyone using that? any problems with it on mac? on mavericks? :\

Thanks! <3

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S2 and my mom uses the S3. Transferring stuff between my iMac and the phones is really easy with Android File Transfer. I've had no problems since upgrading to Mavericks either  :meow:

I'm using the Galaxy S3

The syncing issues you're talking about is basically that Android =/= iOS, so iTunes doesn't sync to Samsung. However, that can easily be resolved if you download an app like AirDroid onto your Samsung phone. It's basically a file-syncing service, where you can sync music, photos, videos, etc. from your phone to your Mac and vice and versa.

Honestly, I much prefer the Samsung Galaxy line of phones (this is coming from an ex-iPhone 4 user), since there's a lot more freedom I have with the Android and you can definitely do a lot more stuff with it (ie. customization, file downloading, viewing pleasure, etc.)

I heard about AirDroid. Is there a difference between Kies and Airdroid? AirDroid works fine on Mavericks?? Also, can Samsung phones read epub files?

Mm, the most major difference between Kies and AirDroid would be that you have to download Kies, whereas AirDroid is accessible through URL. And since it's just a web address, it works perfectly fine on Mavericks. I personally like AirDroid better, mainly because I'm not a heavy files person (as in, I don't require my whole music library to be in my phone all at once) nor do I sync a lot, but if you're a heavy sync-er or a bulk-upload type of person, I would go with Kies.

If you download an epub reader (I recommend Cool Reader), any current phone (or a generation back) on the Samsung smartphone line should be able to read epub files

I have the new macbook pro but I use a galaxy s3. I downloaded an app from the play store that enables my phone to sync with iCloud so it solved all the syncing issues. It cost around $2.50. I really only needed it for the calendar though since I don't use cloudmail.

I sync music a lot and books. :\ I'll probably do better with Kies in this case.

Thanks guys! :D
