Tl;dr

 

New water-type Pokemon starter Popplio (who was bullied for looking silly when originally announced) had its evolution cause even more disapproval by many Pokemon fans.

Brionne's category is 'Pop Star Pokemon' so I guess it's the first official Pokemon idol?

 

Anyhow, what most people have a problem with is that starters are predominantly male, with female starters being quite rare, and Brionne looks like a girl.
