What do you value most in a relationship?

Recommended Posts

I value friendship the most.

Because what happens if you get tired and you can't find the will to be romantic anymore? It happens, right?

But if your relationship is grounded on true friendship you'll find and find more and more reasons to be in love because you enjoy the company of each other, and you enjoy doing a lot of things together. And that will rekindle the flames of romance :)

Trust.

Without trust, you cannot stay loyal and love your partner the way you'd like. If you second-guess everything, you're only going to make things up in your head when it just isn't the case.

For example, if my girlfriend is talking with another guy, do I start to think she's losing interest in me and is doing things behind my back if she spends most of her time with me? You have to make sure that unless you have definite proof of something wrong, you shouldn't jump to conclusions. I think trust is the most important thing and what you should value most.

Humor, because if you have what I'd consider a crappy taste in humor it just can't work out. I'd say this because even though I don't show it online I'm big on telling jokes and if you get offended easily it just couldn't work. Also to me if you remember a little funny story I tell, or keep an inside joke running with me it will mean more to me than any compliment or gift

I guess I'd consider trust to be the basis for all relationships. If you don't completely trust the other, it'll lead to other nasty issues in regards to honesty, communication, respect, etc. One thing will lead to another.

Communication. You need to interact with your partner a lot in order to develop many aspects of the relationship.

Trust. I'd be fucked if I didn't form trust for my partner. Aerie has a good example there. Luckily, my trust has grown.

Honesty. I like honesty... I dislike liars - hurt me with the truth, tell me everything necessary. If you aren't honest, it damages the trust formed.

If you have trust in your partner, it's important for your partner to be caring for you. Otherwise it'd break the trust, and it'd be a negative factor in the relationship.

I don't know, but I know how I feel. Also, I hate it when my partner is hypocritical about things. Rar.

Great sex, great communication, and career.

  • Great sex =Having great sex is a connection between you in the person. They understand your wants and needs and handle you the way you like just shows how much they are into you.
  • Great Communication = Communicating is a must. It involves listening, understanding, bonding and compromising.
  • Career = Within a relationship, being with someone who has achieved goals, has goals shows maturity and skills. It will hold a relationship together for the long term marriage, kids etc (nothing turns me on more than someone who has a life for themselves and their priorities in check)

Trust, communication, and honesty. All three interact with each other. And many couples possess all three, but are unable to utilize those qualities for the better. Instead, they use it for the worse.

The ability to Talk and Sort out!

^ This, communication, and trust. It hurts when there is a lack of trust between me and the person I love. Without trust, a relationship will fall apart just like that. There may be a lot of things I am not, but for the people I am close to, I've always had the best intentions.
