Any point of buying a gaming keyboard + headphones and recommendations?

I'm just curious here. Should I go for a gaming keyboard? Right now I'm just using a budget

TeckNet Gryphon keyboard + mouse set. Have macros on the keyboard but I'm also using my 1 year old steel series rival gaming mouse. And any need for a gaming headset when I have a Bluetooth head phone and old speakers from my dad which are decent.

get a mechanical keyboard, its a little bit pricey compared to membrane keyboards but its 100% worth it i assure you.

and also, gaming headsets are shitty headphones packaged with a shitty mic and is priced 3x their normal value. get a decent pair of headphones and use an external microphone.

basically this

but if you don't want hassle to buy separate headphones and external mic (or mod mic), kingston hyperx cloud II are decent for it's price

Preference. Is the key as it's hard to say one is better then another.

I like headsets with dobly digital surround feature.

As for keyboard, mechanical if you like the feedback or membrane if you like smoother feeling. I have the razer deathsalker chroma.

Is there a different between a non mechanical keyboard and a mechanical one? I currently have a Bose AE2W and they work for me, plus with their bluetooth I can use the mic in it. Is there a need to change from that? Cause I use the headphone on a daily basis and love them for communicating. Also any recommendation on a good mechanical keyboard? Not planning to spend much on them but something that may help with gaming performance.

it feels different, but there are a lot of different type of mechanical keyboard and it depends on your style

something like corsair strafe is good, they have a lot of switch that you can pick

if you like your current headphone better stick with it

There is a huge difference between mechanical and membrane keyboards, I don't really know how to explain it to you but check out guides to mechanical keyboards on youtube, there are loads of them on there. I've been using mechs for 3 years now and I absolutely despise the feel of non-mech keyboards haha. One advantage mechanical keyboards have over non-mechs in gamig is the tactile feedback you get when the key actuates so you can confirm 100% that you've activated that key.

as for reccomendations, just like hilmaneric said Corsair Strafe is a good budget mech keyboard. You can also check out CMStorm QuickFire TK, its not a full sized keyboard tho so bear that in mind.

Bose AE2Ws are really good, you don't have to change it unless you want to spend money to downgrade to shitty "gaming headsets".

I'll keep to my own bluetooth headphone :) will just upgrade the speaker later next year.

I just looked up two keyboards that has my interest  they are the;

Razer BlackWidow 2014 Tournament Edition or the CorsaiK70 Cherry MX Red Performance Red Backlit Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Black. Both are mechanical. Just unsure which one would be better. The Razer one is cheaper though /: And aright lol. I'll keep to my Bose (I do love the feel of them and been using them for just under a year). But that just brings me to one thing. Need a good mic so I can talk with them unless I just go mainly bluetooth but the battery life is just ....... :( and I use them for my handheld gaming and even listening to music when I'm out and about.

K70 is considered one of the best mechanical keyboard, it's the better corsair strafe with all the bells and whistles

If you ask me i'll definitely pick the k70 over the blackwidow 2014 TE. The k70 looks more sleek (dat brushed aluminium tho), has a volume scroll bar and is much better in terms of build quality compared to razer (aluminium upper case vs plastic)

The BlackWidow 2014 TE isn't full sized (missing the numpad) thats why its cheaper, but if you're on a tight budget the blackwidow isn't that bad too.

As for the microphone I can't really give you any reccomendations since i'm currently using a 10$ logitech microphone, and im satisfied with that (the sound quality is the pretty much the same if not better then my shitty 90$ "gaming headset" that i've thrown away). But if you're looking for much clearer sound quality you can look for budget studio microphones.

Mechanical keyboards does not really help much with improving your gaming performance. A few of the benefits include not having to bottom out when you press a key and n-key rollover which allows the computer to register more than 3 keys being pressed.

You're really paying a premium for the typing experience and build quality.

Switch types for mechanical keyboards are also important. Some people have preferences as to which ones they like. Sometimes it can ruin your experience if you don't pick the right one. There are others who prefer typing on membrane over mechanical switches. If you can, go to some electronics or computer stores that have mechanical keyboards on display for you to try.

However, it's likely that you'll immediately like the Red switches on the Corsair K70 or you'll eventually get use to it.

Going with the V - Moda BoomPro Microphone for computer games / Internet telephony since I saw it would work on any headphones and my ae2w can just plug right in perfectly along with the two other plugs to put into my pc also going to go with the Black and Corsair k70 Cherry MX Red Performance Red Backlit Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
