am i the only one that's kind of over ioi at this point?

i mean, i was into produce 101 since day one and i enjoyed the show and concept of voting for members. and as a somi and (kinda) jieqiong fan, i wanted to support the final group. but after they released dream girls, all the hype i had for them as a group died instantly. i stan for music so i just couldn't stand behind the group any longer and i retreated to the somi thread for updates on her alone. whatta man was a much better release from the remnants of the group and i was happy for them to end on that note, since at the time, ymc had said it would be too much for the girls to make a full group comeback.

but of course jellyfish, starship, and mbk realized what a mistake it was to pull their girls out early and now they want to rush that full group comeback before the end of the year.

i'm sure ioi fans are happy about this, but i'm just so over it. i truly believe the girls have milked this group for all it's worth at this point. they're not going to get extremely more popular with another cheaply produced song and mv, and that's a fact. and moderately successful releases are great and all, but i'm wondering if the girls are even getting paid decently for all of this or if all that cf money is going into the pockets of their companies and ymc.  idk, i'm just ready for the next chapter, for pledis girlz, for jype's 2nd gg, for the girls to have activities with their future permanent groups. yet they're still stuck in a moment that has already passed.

opinions on this?

I wish IOI OT7 had released more songs or I kind of want them to come back in October instead because I think they have more chemistry as a group than OT11. Also I think MBK pushes Chaeyeon too much it's a bit annoying.

Well in a couple months IOI is over and done with so just tolerate them for like 4 months...

I personally love IOI

I didn't watch Produce 101 (I need to I know) but after they debuted, I really liked them and stanned them  :meow:
And I will be sad the day IOI disbands which is soon  :rlytearpls:

I love ioi, but tbh jellyfish, mbk, starship made me prefer the remaining 7 members more...

I knew the full group comeback would happen but i thought itd be in like mid November- December...

I, lowkey, am wishing for the unit to have a simple comeback after the full group before they part their ways in January tho.. LOL

Nope, honestly very unlikely that any of their permanent groups are going to reach IOI's level of success so I'm living for these upcoming 4 months, and I'm sure all the girls are too. Yeah their management has been messy and it's ruined some of the group's hype, but realistically it should've been expected. This is the first time this kind of group was put together, and no one knew what the reception would be like. There's like 9 different parties involved, every company has their own agenda and prioritize their own stakes over the success of IOI.

Also idk why people think that Jellyfish, MBK, and Starship are desperate to participate in IOI group promos as if they realized they made a mistake after seeing how the unit promos went. It was announced months ago that the plan was for there to be 2 full group promos.

I'm anticipating pledis girlz tho  :ahmagah: If their debut song is good they might be a success xD

I'm sure that you are not the only one since they are quite a few fans who were there and active in the beginning who have disappeared or lost interest in them. I think the competition aspect of PD101 is what kept alot of people hooked and when that was over in addition to the travesty that was Dream Girls it just killed the hype for them.

I don't think Jellyfish ,MBK and Starship are running to put them back.It has been known from the beginning that there would be two full group comeback and seen how they're disbanding soon. It's about time they start promoting before they do the concerts. I doubt the girls are making that much money except probably Chayeon seeing as how MBK has been over-working her.. It would all depend on their contracts but I doubt its much after both YMC and their companies take their share.

The girls are still very very popular in korea and their value as 11 is more than anyone probably thought it would be. To be honest the group was only meant to be milked for a year,so the plan was probably  to stuff them down our throats as much as possible before they disappear. By February they'll be gone and it'll be time for season 2.

I'm excited for the next phase as well and seeing how Pledis has been promoting their group, once give the right concept, they could work as well as seventeen did.

the whole concept was messy. if the girls had all been independent trainees it would've worked but of course the companies want their money's worth. but i enjoy ioi as 7 members right now

Thinking now that feels like really such a good thing. To give independent trainees an opportunity like that an opportunity like that and create an actual permanent group.

No...

I am still anticipating the OT11 comeback, though it's gonna be their last album and seems no other reality show (I hope I am wrong about this).

Seems the unexpected huge success and outcomes from PD101 and IOI had shattered the original plans.

From one year contract to 10 months and then now 9 months (from April until the end of the year).

From 4 albums, 2 as full team and 2 as sub-unit, now there are only 2 as full team and 1 as sub-unit.

And I always thought the sub-unit would be 24hours team and Yum yum team.

With all disappointments, Whatta man and Lan Cable Friends are such a consolation for me.

And OT7 could keep my hype up.

Well Boys24 didn't hit it off as well as Produce 101, so it's hard to say whether or not independent trainees would be a good idea or would have stirred up as much interest. I guess because the trainees were already under companies, it made it more interesting. I mean when you hear there's a trainee from JYP, Pledis, etc., of course it's going to draw people in more.

But I know what you mean, if only I.O.I could do comebacks every 1-2 years or perform on stage for special events, I wouldn't be too sad over their disbandment...
