[TENASIA] [Girl Spirit TOP5 â‘£] Lovelyz Kei “I was able to grow through 'Girl Spiritâ€

 

 

'Girl Spirit' was Kei's development drama.

 

Kei participated in JTBC's Idol Vocal League 'Girl Spirit' as Lovelyz's representative. She was in Group A with Sonamoo's Minjae·CLC's Seunghee·Oh My Girl's Seunghee·April's Jinsol·Cosmic Girls' Dawon·Pledis Girlz's Sungyeon and won 1st place before advancing to the finals. She garnered interest whether she would be able to stand against Group B's 'Deadly Vocal' but unfortunately, she did not win.

 

To TenAsia, Kei expressed her thoughts, "I'm really thankful for being able to grow through 'Girl Spirit, and doing new challenges with every stage, I had fun delivering really interesting stages." She added, "I don't cling to the grades. Because I only think about the stage, I'm satisfied with this result. I'm really thankful for each and every vote that I got."

 

While she has been showing cute and innocent image as a Lovelyz member, Kei was focused on showing various charms that she had no confidence in showing before through 'Girl Spirit'. She delivered basics of absorbing into dance·ballad, having fun with tango, and stages like that of a musical's. Particularly, Kei's choice of songs were always challenging.

 

 

From the first round, Kei's choice of song was outstanding. She revealed, "Singing the song that I've liked since I was a little, 'Atlantis Princess' by BoA-sunbaenim whom I respect, it remained in my memory. It's definitely a song that I want to sing on stage again."

 

On the other hand, she pointed out her ambitious first final stage song, 'Western Sky' by Lee Seung Chul, as the stage where she lacked the most. "Before the final, my throat condition wasn't good," she revealed. "I want to show you a better performance of 'Western Sky' again later."

 

This was the resolute Kei, the member who showed the most outstanding growth in 'Girl Spirit'. "Singing ability, stage manner, etc. became big helps in growing as a singer," Kei said. "We're preparing for our new album. It may give a good influence like my experience on Girl Spirit," she laughed. Finally, Kei didn't forget to request, "Because I will show you a lot of good songs in the future, please give Lovelyz and Kei lots of love and support."
