I know this is a very hard topic right now especially to ELFs but i just hope with this news, it'll brings a closure and will allow the family to grieve and mourn privately. I hope Leeteuk will stay strong and i know he have a very strong support system from his members and their families. :._.: :._.:

The police department in charge of the investigation into the deaths of Leeteuk‘s father (Park Yong In), grandfather (Park Hyun Suk), and grandmother (Chun Kyung Tae) have released some concluding information about the case.

According to the Dongjak Police Department, the bodies of Leeteuk’s father and grandparents were found at their house around 9:20AM on January 6 by Mr. Park’s nephew/niece, who then called the police. The grandparents were found strangled, lying side by side on a bed, while the father was in the same room hanging from a wardrobe handle. A suicide note was also discovered with the message, “I will take my parents and go to heaven together so live well.†It also had the message, “I am sorry to my children.â€

According to the investigation, after divorcing with Leeteuk’s mother in 1998, his father lived separately from his children with his parents. Starting in the past few years, Leeteuk’s grandfather started to suffer from dementia, and to make matters worse, Leeteuk’s grandmother, who had been taking care of her husband, was diagnosed and bedridden last year with late-stage lung cancer with the additional complication of dementia. Leeteuk’s father looked diligently after his parents, but with a debt of hundreds of millions of won due to business failure and the house seized, he had decided to put his parents into a convalescent hospital. However, a day before he would admit them into the hospital, Leeteuk’s father took the lives of his parents and committed suicide.

The police stated, “We have made the provisional conclusion that Mr. Park took the lives of his parents and committed suicide due to being overwhelmed with his struggles. According to his family, Mr. Park suffered from depression.â€

The Dongjak Police Department also announced that it does not plan to hold an official briefing or to perform an autopsy on the deceased. It stated, “We judged that it is enough with just the deceased’s family’s testimony. With the cause of death comparatively clear, we will not be performing an autopsy.â€

Currently, the funeral is being held at the Korea University Guro Hospital.

The first thing that comes to mind is oh my God.

RIP to them and I hope Leeteuk and his family will be okay.

Perhaps maybe if Leeteuk wasn't enrolled in the army right now he would have a better perspective on his father's struggles and could have helped him financially.

Why are they putting their business out there?

They could just say "Suicide due to personal reasons".....

Too much detail that shouldn't be put out in the public

you know how anti fans have no respect :horror:

Anyways I hope they RIP and Leeteuk and his family stay strong

So where did the car accident story come from? Sounds suspicious.

Suicide's social stigma/rep in Korea is kinda bad. They reported the death of one of the Samsung CEO's children as a car accident when it was really a suicide because of it, so if it's true that they did kill themselves it's understandable why it was reported as a car crash.

i'mma need for the articles to stop. can you see a person is in mourning? like tone it down. he don't need his business out in these streets like this.

The difference between this and the other articles is that this is an official report. The whole purpose was to stop further speculation articles.

I don't like how they're just telling the world Leeteuk's family's business

I know news does that regularly, but usually they leave out names of the family members who weren't involved at the time it happened

But they can't in this case, because everyone knows who the family is because he's famous.

It's just really sad and I think the family should have an option to not have this news revealed.

Also, why did they have to tell us specifically why he was stressed and all the family problems they had.

This is just very uncomfortable and seems like everyone knows private things they shouldn't.

Reminds me of Jaejoong and his family problems.

I'm not sure if Leeteuk can continue comfortably as an idol after this.
