Change in tiers of top companies?

Quite a few groups from non-Big3 companies have been finding a lot of success in the past few years. Some such as Mamamoo, Sistar, BTS, GFriend are also being acknowledged as top-level groups.

We know, at the starting period of kpop, a company called DSP was one among the Big3. Pledis too had highly popular groups and soloists. In the middle period, Cube was speculated to join Big3 tier.

So, my question is, do you see any change in the topmost tier of companies in the near future? Would the present incumbents be able to keep their crowns? Would any new challenger rise to ascend the throne?

YG - Big Bang

SM - EXO

JYP - TWICE

I don't see any group right now beat any of them.

I can't say anything else about other companies because I don't know anything about them but at least for SM, they still have SNSD, EVEN if they're not promoting right now, the brand itself is immense.

I say this as an ARMY and someone who identifies BTS as my ultimate bias group. Big Hit isn't going to be Big-3 tier as long as they only have one relevant artist in their roster. Same goes for a lot of other companies. If they only have one really relevant group then they've got a long way to go before they can be considered one of the big companies, in my honest opinion.

IE: Pledis isn't in competition to be a "big" company because they completely mismanage NU'EST and we're not even going to talk about how they've handled After School.  Cube just... not even going there, because Cube as a whole tends to make me sad. So many of their groups could probably be so much bigger if they were just under a different label. ETC.

Not in the near future. If Big Hit and Source can produce successful 2nd and 3rd generations of groups, which will take years, they'll be considered top tier/"big" music companies. It's where Cube faltered. But in that time period that smaller companies will be trying to grow SM and YG will be positioning themselves as not just top tier music companies but top tier entertainment companies as they're investing a lot into non-music endeavors.

The big 3 are unlikely to change anytime in the next 10 years or so I would say. Asset wise, they are fairly stable and much larger than the next biggest company.

The 2nd tier companies are likely to change though. DSP has fallen quite a bit. I'd replace them with Woollim for one as Infinite and Lovelyz are both proceeding stably. Bighit is doing fairly well right now but we have to see when they debut a girl group if they can climb. Cube is still doing well with BTOB and B2ST and Hyuna, but CLC is not doing very well so the future of the company isn't stable yet. A lot of the new groups from small companies will have to see them debut another group to see if the company can successfully juggle a second girl/boy group. As for Pledis, they have seventeen who are rising at the moment so we have to see if they can maintain that momentum.
