Actresses sometimes do gravures. Even Ayumi Hamasaki also done it in her past. It's kinda starting step for alot of female celebs but it is usually less "explicit" with more reserve poses compare to actual gravure models though.

It's also normal to do sexier pics for their photobooks than they would for regular magazine like these pics from Mayuyu. Rie Miyazawa done a famous nude photobok Santa Fe.
