Former Miss Universe Alicia Machado, who Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump once called “Miss Piggy,†“Miss Housekeeping†and “an eating machine,†is determined to prevent him from becoming president.

Trump, who owned the Miss Universe pageant until last year, ridiculed Machado’s weight and verbally abused her following her 1996 victory. Machado’s story got renewed attention during Monday’s presidential debate, when Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton used it to highlight Trump’s history of misogyny.

Trump, who has admitted that he told Machado to lose weight, would not back down. He told Fox News on Tuesday morning that at the time, Machado had “gained a massive amount of weight, and it was a real problem.â€

After Machado’s Miss Universe victory, Trump forced her to diet and exercise. During one workout, he ambushed her with TV cameras. In addition to body-shaming Machado, Trump spoke derisively of her Latina heritage, criticizing her accent and calling her “Miss Housekeeping.â€

Machado, who was born in Venezuela, recently became a U.S. citizen in order to vote for Clinton in November. She is using her Miss Universe experiences to shine a light on Trump’s long record of sexism and mocking women for their appearance.

No matter who you side with in the election, you gotta admit this is a pretty badass 'fuck you'.

I shouldn't have never googled her, my heart cannot handle it  :lub:

both have said not so nice words about women, why should I get on trump when both are just as guilty?

The glaring difference between the two when it comes to things that they are guilty of is that one candidate acts like a 12-year-old in the body of a 70-year-old, unable to grow from anything he has previously said or done, making childish remarks defending and/or deflecting them. Hillary, at least, has evolved over time and will even admit when she has made mistakes. Whether you trust her or not, you have to acknowledge that someone who is more level-headed and willing to correct her errors is far better than someone that is so in love with himself, he can't even realize - let alone confront - his mistakes. Sorry, but the latter is not leader material even in a club at a university, let alone the president of the USA.

I don't like either but it is very obvious who is better fit for presidency between the two just from how their personas alone.

if that isn't some bias bullshit. Baseline, you assume that one has grown up and you assume that one is more level headed. I won't give someone a pass because they appear more honest than the other, facts don't care about who can look better.

Trump can say some unkind things about women, but he at least put women as higher ups in her office. Hillary claims that we should believe women of sexual assault....except when it comes to her own husband.

20 years ago miss universe was about the body though. You can't gain a lot of weight when you are reigning miss universe. I guess since he had to promote her he told her to stay fit. I am sure most girls in the pageant world know this and maintain their bodies accordingly. Did she think she was picked for her brain?

Genuine question: do you pay attention to the manner in which he responds to things (baits, accusations, fact checking, etc)?

He continuously fails to acknowledge his faults and refuses to be corrected on any lies he spews, while also being incapable of demonstrating any form of restrain that is expected of a presidential candidate. Everything is offensive to him, even facts. Sorry, but that is not someone that should lead anything. When you allow your narcissism and self-importance to cloud your responses to that extent, it illustrates the way you would handle your duties and shows just how much you lack the temperament to hold a position like presidency.

What, in his demeanor, makes you think he is a cool, level-headed, mature guy when he reacts? Or are you going to say that such qualities aren't important for leadership?

Not even going to address the part in bold considering it has nothing to do with my comment (which discussed WHY Hillary is easily better in how she handles things she is guilty/accused of, NOT on whether she IS guilty).

People can look past your faults (and he has many) when you can show you are capable of success. I don't deny trump is not ideal or all that moral. However even with his faults he is still a successful buisness man and more trustworthy in matters of money and economy (the thing most people car about). Being a political figure there is no such thing as "always honest", but there is a "more credible/reliable". Which is why trump has the large following he does. I don't find him sexist, he just insults or says not so nice things to everyone not just the ones with a vagina. I don't find him racist consider is circle or friends and opening buisness to blacks when it wasn't popular.

The Donald we see is a reality tv character American is used to and for some very fond of. He has a strong personality that comes with pros and cons some of which you mentioned. So at times he is level headed and mature.

So how do we explain away 'Miss Housekeeping?' The thing is, he didn't just call her names, which is entirely unprofessional, by the way- but also tried to publicly shame and humiliate her for gaining weight. It's one thing to have a serious sit-down with someone and say, "look, you're Miss Universe, and your body isn't the same as when you won- that's an issue for us, we need you to maintain that body." It's still kind of gross (because pageants in general are pretty gross), but at least it's not hiring reporters to follow her to the gym and doing public interviews to call her fat. If she didn't listen, and if she signed a contract that said she must maintain her weight, then they could drop her promotions. Simple as that. Instead he decided to go the nastiest (and most racist) route possible.
