Came here because you just quoted me with a link on the other thread Nice compilation! I'm always happy to see another good baritone getting the appreciation he deserves.

 

He's quite heady for a baritone, I think he got heavily inspired from throaty rock band singers - he originally wanted to be in one, right? He reminds me of my bb Yoon's mix (quite heady for a baritone too, but Yoon prefers forwarding his vocal placement instead when singing tenor ranges). If that's indeed the case, then no wonder Chanyeol's preferred stylistic vocal adlibs always make his timbre intentionally a lot huskier, rougher, raspier; with a gritty quality you rarely find in a voice so deep.

 

Well, now I kinda realized why his and D.O.'s voice complement each other so well... partially because Chanyeol is a heady baritone and D.O. is a chesty tenor. Perfect vocal weights combination. The rest is harmonization skill and sheer musical compatibility. Practically a match made in heaven.

 

tl;dr His voice his nice, I adore it a lot. I'll always be around for more of his stuff.
