Former EXO member Tao opened up about his departure from SM Entertainment.

On a recent broadcast of Chinese talk show 'Ke Fan Ting Qing', Tao started to explain the reason he left Korea by saying, "I didn't want to live tired like that."

When a question pressed him with, "When were you most hurt?", Tao answered, "When the company made me leave." He further explained, "During a program playing basketball, I injured my ankle ligaments. At the time, I still worked hard because my fans were right there, but the label pressured me to continue on with my schedule even with the serious injury. I was willing to sacrifice for my team, but the limit comes when you go too far."

even sinb gfriend experienced that .. that's kpop

that's not normal and until people realize that. the kpop system will never change.

.I strongly believe most of these idols bodies are fucked by the time they are 40.

What do you mean? Did he make the decision to leave or

What does he mean, instead.

Why would SM want him to leave? lol Multiple members had injuries multiple times. It's not benefict for the company to want them to leave because it affects the group image and the company's image. Tao is playing the victim yet again here. Dancers get injuried all the time, it's normal and Kai is recovering from yet another injury hence why he didn't participate on Lotto's promotions neither moved a muscle during EXO concerts.

Joy had a minor injury on her knee and was absent from a few things then came back to promote. She was rushed to hospital and only got to promote again because it was nothing serious and she could come back.

Whatever he said (or was translated badly by allk-shit) doesn't make sense at all. Being an idol is hard and promoting all the time is hard but EXO is only at the top right now because they worked this hard. He left because he wanted to, not because SM wanted him to.

I don't hunk either side is wrong in their beliefs, but Tao was incompatible with the kpop lifestyle. That shit is grueling and questionably ethical. Until consumers themselves act to combat things, it will continue this way. But obviously people are already normalizing injuries while performing and minimal sleep schedules.

But maybe that's just the kpop way.

Allkpop still trash

This never happened:

When a question pressed him with, "When were you most hurt?", Tao answered, "When the company made me leave." He further explained,

Allkpop took some creative liberties with the truth as usual.

OK 1.sm's pretty inconsistent when it comes to injuries. sometimes they will make you take off other times they won't. I have watched both Kai and Lay limp on stage before. I have Tiffany sing with nodes.None of this is healthy man.

before you go the idols choose to perform themselves, it's still sm's job to make sure they are healthy in the workspace.

Like I said before, you're just talking out of your ass and clearly didn't watch the interview~ Tao has explained plenty of times that he was told by doctors that he was too damn injured to move. He was literally not supposed to be moving because a piece of his bone fell off and you're talking about sprains and minor injuries. Tao's injury is permanent and there are some things he can't do like he could~ But they pushed him past his limit and made him do TWO heavily choreographed MVs during that time and made him attend other events~

IDK what this "SM wanted him to leave" BS you keep spouting is, but it never even happened, LMAO~

I'm sorry but this is called life. People who are not idols work as hard as them and sleep as much as them, they also get injuries and health problems but hey they're not your oppas or unnies right?

And this is no way me saying that it's normal or that it should be right, but this is working and earning money for a live. I'm being harsh because Tao is crying for something that is normal for anyone.

1. He never said ""When the company made me leave."  that is made up by allkpop. He just explained one of the reasons why he left

2. Before you speak watch the complete interview, he just answered the question the host made, he even tried to avoid talking about that but the interviewer kept asking

3. He was heavily injured by the time he decided to leave.

I will not convince you to believe him, because clearly you don't like him and you think it's ok for idols to be injured all the time, but next time when you talk about something, make sure you know what was really happening and don't base your opinion just on rumor sites like allkpop that distort all the information for clicks

a) It says a lot about you that you take Allkpop as such a credible, trustworthy source. And b) Those are just two examples of idols getting injured and taking a break. Lbr SM artists are known for the opposite, they work hardly even if their bones break and at this point they don't even get mediaplayed as being admirable for that lol. It hurts seeing them hurt like that, nobody says "Omg how professional!!" anymore. Yuta, a trainee at the time, looked injured during one of the sr15b dance practices and that's considered normal.

I'm basing my opinion on someone who I respect the most that is Jung Yunho who faced worse situations than Tao and didn't come forward to cry about trivial things.

Honestly I couldn't care less about liking Tao or not, I really don't. AllKpop didn't take it off context ALL THAT MUCH, I watched it now and Tao did say that "SM wanted him to leave" (based on the subs all of you provided). So what now? Once you reach "your limit" (honestly he just ATTENDED events I have never seen him dancing or anything whule injured lol) you're supposed to leave because that's it? I mean, would you say that to someone who really needs the work to keep earning money to live? I'm sorry but your fan side is showing up here to try turning things favorable to him.

It's true that if he didn't show up it could damage the group's image? Know why? Because he's chinese! Because one of the chinese members LEFT before him! Because SM didn't want the rumours to spike up and affect the group. He was just attending events... Honestly...I don't expect you, who stans him, to understand this because you have a bias for him. It's pointless to try making a point out of this situation. I don't even stan exo or anything but I do hear a lot about both sides and this is not a case of "evil (SM) against angel (Tao)"

1. Was waiting for the actual interview to be posted because I knew AKP would twist information like this. I don't know how y'all can still use their articles.

2. It's truly fucked up how normalised it is for kpop idols to work until they're quite literally broken. You'd think your faves' well-being would come first to you before that fucked up sense of pride from seeing your faves continue to work in spite of it all  I for one was relieved as a fan when Kai was taken off the group for Lotto when he was injured.
