If your Significant Other cheated on you

I would like to know how many people think like me. I *finally* got to watch The Descendants movie. There, George Clooney finds out his dying wife cheated on him.

 

My mom joined me later and she told me something that left me impressed, she said that if she was being cheated upon, she wouldn't like to know. No sight, no mind. If she doesn't find out, it's like it never happened. I strongly disagreed. If I am in a relationship with somebody, I expect him to be faithful to me, it's implied. I have a great quality (no means to show off) I am loyal, and I would like to be reciprocated. I don't picture myself cheating, I never fool around, I am very serious about romantic relationships, and yes, If I were to be cheated upon, I fucking would like to know. Maybe I will have enough balls to forgive.

Hell yeah. I don't want to be in a relationship I thought was real but in reality artificial.

It's basically living life under a false pretense that everything about the relationship was true.

Depends. If it was with some random person I wouldn't really want to know. If it was with someone they see quite often like a coworker or friend I would want to know.

as someone who was cheated on and found out months later from the girl he cheated on me with...  It was really awful to find out that someone who you ~loved~ was able to keep that from me for so long without a problem and probably would have kept it a secret. i'm glad i found out because someone who is able to do that to you isn't worth being with imo (in most circumstances)

I wanna know. I'd be pissed for sure,but not for long. The longer you hide it from me,the more pissed i'd be. And depending on how long we've been together plays into if we break up or not.

If the person was dying? idk i was watching grey's anatomy and a patient that was going into emergency surgery asked the doctor to tell her husband that she cheated on him with his brother if she were to die, but the doctors never did. i guess when there is no chance of it getting out, ignorance is bliss. Like if she's dead why taint the good memories.

 

If i were in an ongoing relationship then i would definitely want to know.

If the person were dying, yes. I want to be able to see what part of the relationship went wrong. I wouldn't want to fall in the same trap.

If I were dying, I'm not so sure if I'd find enough time to understand and accept the fact.
