How not to cry when saying goodbye to parents at the airport?

My parents are living in Germany and I'm attending college in Japan. Currently I'm visiting Germany to stay with them for summer vacation, but tomorrow I will have to fly back to Japan for new semester. After tomorrow, I won't be able to see them until Christmas

This whole week I've been stressed about this. I don't want tomorrow to come at all. I'm close to them so I know I would miss not being able to see them at home and caring about me (I live in a dorm btw). I know I can chat or video call them but you know it's not the same. Today during dinner I had to try really hard not to cry knowing it would be my last meal with them in a while.

I really don't want to cry tomorrow in front of my parents cuz their driver will be there too and I don't want to embarrass myself. I want to hold my tears back at least after going through security

I already went through a semester without them yet I still suffer separation anxiety every time I need to say goodbye

I dread the moment I need to give them a goodbye hug so much because I know I would burst out in tears

Omg  :rlytearpls:  :rlytearpls:  :rlytearpls:  You seem like a really sweet kid. It's okay if you're feeling sad and you feel like crying. I know you may be scared that it's embarrassing, or your parents may worry, but they clearly care about you and wouldn't want you to be holding in your emotions when you're feeling upset. Saying goodbye to family is one of the hardest things anyone can do, you are not unnatural for feeling this way at all.

It's okay babe, honestly.

Tbh it only gets harder everytime you go away. Because each time you leave you'll understand even more how important you are to them and vice versa. It's okay to cry. Just keep them close by contacting them regularly. Btw I know how you feel, I studied abroad for years too. But you can do it.
