How to get better at a game?

Do you suck at all games or just specific ones lol.

Depends what game it is and the type of game. There are some genres and skills that you just suck at and can't help it. I suck at stealth, strategy, fighting games, bullet hell, etc. But i'm decent at other games like rpgs, shooters, and action. You can try other types of games or focus on one game until you get competent.

If you're having fun then who cares though.

Usually rpg and shooter games (like especially csgo)

Lol i can see CSGO being a rough time. You could try something less hardcore like COD or Battlefield. Or even Overwatch.

You can't really be bad at rpgs since you could always grind if you're struggling. Unless you're talking about crpg stuff like Divinity or Baldur's Gate types. I don't play those kinds of rpg but they seem to take a very methodical playstyle that i would probably be bad at too.

It's weird if it's true you've been playing since six... unless you are an 8 years old child...

Normally all my friends that are good at videogames are guys who started playing since they were kids and dedicated a lot of time, although I know some very gifted persons who get pretty good without having to play as much. However, despite of the different learning curves, if you want to get better you need to play with the intent and purpose of doing so. It might sound simple, or you might even think you're already doing, but chances are you're not because if you just play aimlessly over and over again in a casual manner you aren't going to progress at all.

So instead of playing casually you need to have the conscious intent of getting better, like thinking carefully about what you're doing, finding out what you're doing wrong and correcting it. The strategies would vary depending of the type of game but for starters you could look for streams or footages of people who are good players in order to identify what is that makes them better.
