People are saying the reason why she is not promoting with them this time is due to her weight gain. If you notice, she did gain some weight (albeit to me, she looked completely fine as she was but Korean standards are quite harsh and critical) and if you recall back when there were seven members, Brave scolded them for hiding snacks in their dance practice room. He said he did not mind them eating healthy when they were on break but when they are preparing for a comeback or promoting for a comeback, he wants them to watch their diet. This seems to make plausible sense considering how abrupt this decision was and she probably removed her Instagram in order to focus on her "health" (I really hate saying it like that but that's what they are implementing). So, I hope that she WILL come back with them but who knows at this point. If they re-record her parts in Rollin' 2.0 I think we could say she's unfortunately most likely not going to comeback, because if she WAS going to eventually come back with the group, they wouldn't remove her vocals (Example: Hello Venus' Venus when Yoonjo was absent due to an injury).

Maybe they are telling the truth this time? I do hope Hayun will comeback soon.

 

Three things I do not like about the new Rollin': The music video is terribly low budget (and I really hate that overly painful-looking saturation that so many K-Pop idols use as a filter, it is not pleasing on the eyes at all), the entire second pre-chorus is cut off and the saxophone is way too loud (as if Minyoung's "rollin', rollin', rollin'" wasn't loud enough lol). All in all, it's an okay remix, but definitely nowhere near as good as the original.

 

On the plus side, at least they didn't re-record Hayun's vocals.

The remix isn’t even on Spotify, or iTunes. Trust BE to keep fucking over the girls. They also keep dropping from the charts, it’s like this remix never happened tbh, wow. I feel like shit because I want them to be happy, but I’m at a place where I don’t know what to do, lol. I’m too conflicted

 

I know. It's like Brave wants them to fail or something. Like this could have been promoted a lot better: Work with a producer that is currently trending for the remix; promote it more properly with actual teasers of photos and videos of the girls (and not some random trainee); give more of a budget for the music video; give an addictive dance routine that people would love and gee I don't know, maybe let them perform said remix on music shows and put it on iTunes and Spotify ASAP so fans can find it on all platforms?

I remember when this first came out and I was like "Wow, Minyoung sounds JUST like Eunyoung (the original main vocalist)" the resemblance is uncanny actually, though Minyoung has a bit of a softer tone to her vocals.

Yeah! She's so good, I am really glad she joined the new roster. I really grew to love these girls, to be honest, OT7 was so much fun.

Doubt it. It seems more like a gift to the fans then an actually promoted single. I would be surprised if they do though, I'm hoping they come out with something more than just a remix.

I think the whole mess with Hayun is what's causing the remix to not be well-received by people. There's only so much fans can take from being out of the loop.

 

I'll buy it on iTunes to support them, but doubt I'll ever really listen to it.

Me! I was so pumped by the remix and when this news broke, idk. I feel different about the song and can't enjoy it as much.

 

And I'm not sure how often Spotify updates the plays but it says the remix has barely got less then 1,000 plays.

 

I mean the remix doesn't really improve an already amazing song. But yeah, I do feel that Brave really dropped the ball on this idea.

The group is called CHERRSEE. They haven't been charting well at all but there's potiential. I like that it's him producing their songs because I got to be honest, J-Pop is severly outdated. Only few artists really get me to appreciate them.

I mean as much as I like the "new version" I consider it a remix because it is still Tropical House but just more upbeat. The saxophone is fine but it gets kind of annoying after a while (and I love A LOT of songs with saxophones in them so that's saying something) I don't know, I guess I was hoping for more of a Californian type of summer remix a la SISTAR's Loving U or I Swear (sorry I don't really know what you'd call that kind of old-school beat that they used in those songs, it's also in Hyolyn's SEE SEA)

Hayoon is back on IG. Most of her older posts are gone save for photos of scenery, family or herself. She has not un-followed any Brave Girls members and they are still following her too, but nowhere on her page does it show her as a BG member or her promoting the new release of Rollin'. Hmm...

Yeah I am pretty sure she's no longer in the group. I have done some snooping and while they haven't unfollowed each other, whenever someone asks about Hayun all of the girls choose to ignore the comment. Whether it is in English or Korean or any other language, they would at least LIKE the comment but they NEVER even so much as like the comment when it's a fan asking about Hayun. They keep rubbing salt into our wounds by uploading pictures of themselves WITHOUT Hayun as if we AREN'T going to ask and sorry Brave but that whole "on medical hiatus" bullshit has been used way more than enough times, come up with a better excuse or give us the damn truth already.

I remember one thing I've being taught by an expat living in Korea : Korean won't tell you directly what's wrong, or whatever they don't want you anymore, it's more like theses kind of things :

 

- "Hiatus"

- "No I don't want to"

- "I'm tired, maybe next time ?"

 

In this case "Medical break" might be the "words" to tell eveyone "she's no longer a BG member" ?

What was that? I mean, some of the new choreography was nice but it kind of looked a bit messy and all over the place. Why is Brave not putting any money into the group now? First their low budget re-release of Rollin' and now this? What is even happening anymore?

 

Meanwhile, this version is already better musically. That saxophone gets really annoying really fast throughout the song in the original remix.

You can definitely "hear" Brave Girls singing this song. I am beyond pissed at Brave Sound. Brave Girls could have done this song a lot better than UNI.T, but they still did a good job.

 

Nice to know how Brave continues to show his support for nobody in his company.

Yeah ... As I was listening to the song whole day long (cause it’s a bop, even tho I have mix feelings about BENT), I was like attributing parts to BG members and it fits perfectly.

 

Anyway, I just hope they are waiting for Hayun’s situation to be solved and then come back, and not only locked in the dungeon without any plans of promoting for the next five years.

 

I really don't want a repeat of what they did to the original members, that wait was way too hard on me. To have them finally comeback with only two of the five original members (and adding five new members) was a huge surprise for me, and I did not mind it at all even though I was sad one of my favorite members left the group. I really do hope that Hayun gets back into the group because just the four of them just does not look good, it looks like something is missing. I just feel like OT5.2 is the best lineup (hell, OT7 was good too but that ain't ever going to happen)

 

And yeah, I Mean is a bop. I am just really pissed Brave gave it to a group who's already going to end. But maybe this whole half-assery of the Rollin' remix and the choreography are signs that Brave IS keeping them around but not giving them an official comeback until Hayun is back? I don't know, I am just really trying to be hopeful that she hasn't left.

I’m so tired of this bullshit I haven’t even being active here on the forum. Hate to be so pessimist but I’m 23/7 scared of reading a thread with the title Brave Girls is disbanding. I can’t help but think BE is just letting the days pass until the girl’s contracts are over. My whole life has been a loop of stanning underrated ggs only to see them break apart lmao.

 

Sigh. You and I are in the same boat. I am honestly so sick of it. Since about 2007, I have been stanning underrated K-Pop groups and singers and the outcome has always been the same. Brave Girls became one of my favorite girl groups of all time, even surpassing After School (who is also underrated and poorly managed) and when they went on that three year hiatus, that was honestly so hurtful and so much torture for me. To have them come back (albeit with only two of the original members) was beyond excited. I was so happy that after all these years of following underrated GGs, my favorite GG actually came out of hiding. Now, it's happening all over again. While they are at least giving us something (albeit, it's not their fault, it's the company's half-assery) I still feel as though I too might be seeing a post by Brave saying something along the lines of "New Brave Girl Group Audition" and I'm sorry but there are very few companies (not counting the big 3) that equally distribute time and promotion for more than one GG and one BG at a time (hell, even the big 3 has trouble doing it sometimes)

I don't know. I am sorry for always sounding like I am complaining all of the time. It just really hurts. I love Brave Girls so much. I want Hayun back. I want the girls to have consistent comebacks so that they can finally be recognized. They aren't getting any younger, and we ALL know how cruel the K-Pop industry is to idols over a certain age. We haven't gotten any word on another group that I love, Playback, yet they are pretty much done (all the signs point to it) and I just fear the same is happening for Brave Girls.

Ugh same to everything lol. I used to be a huge fan of Nine Muses, for like 8 years, ever since their debut, I went through ups and downs with them, I loved them through everything, but last year I reached a point where I couldn’t be by their side anymore, and I even got called a fake fan lmao which I couldn’t care less about, but seeing them lose original member after original member, not giving a shit about Sungah, and only being four now took its toll on me. And ever since Hyeran and Yoojin left I’m afraid it’s going to be the same. I’m still gonna hang a bit longer with my girls, because I have a little bit of faith, but this is so disappointing and tiring. And like you said, but I didn’t wanna mention because I get jumped when I talk about age, they’re getting older. 25 and up is already super old for Koreans, and maybe some of them are already in a relationship, maybe they’re planning to leave to get married, etc, etc, and I just want a decent comeback, lol. Idk I’m just rambling too much at this point.

 

I agree with this whole thing! I used to love Nine Muses since their debut, but it was until the song Dolls that I stopped playing them and since then their music became so unlike them in my opinion. They found their genre well and the company destroyed it almost as soon as they had it.

 

I know a lot of K-Pop fans choose to ignore the whole age issue, which annoys me so much because it is going to happen and it always happens whether they want to ignore it or not. As you said, once you reach 25 as an idol you either need to be really established to continue to be a success, or you will constant backlash with being too old to be an idol. As much as I love K-Pop, the industry is so terrible to the idols. The fans (and the companies) make it seem like these idols are robots, just made to satisfy. These are human beings too. It is honestly so disgusting. If it is anything like how Paramount treated Chocolat (read member Melanie's interview, it will make you feel so shocked, hurt and disgusted at the industry) these idols go through A LOT of shit only to have the company (and so-called "fans") constantly look down on them and pinpoint every negative aspect of something or someone. So what if somebody dates? So what if somebody is gay, bisexual or straight? So what if they curse at someone for being down right rude to them in public? Look at how they are being treated! A human being can only take so much abuse. Look how much power fame has in K-Pop. It's so disturbing.

 

Anyway, I really have no idea what's going to happen with Brave Girls. It's like Brave used up all of his money to give Samuel consistent comebacks. Honestly, as much as I love UNI.T (and all the girls, well except Hyunjoo and N.CA they both annoy me) that song Brave gave them should have been for Brave Girls because they are a permanent group. You don't give some of your best work to a group that's not only NOT in your company but also a temporary group. It's such a waste. And we know our girls would have KILLED it in the song. But who knows, maybe there is something better on the way. But for now, this whole Rollin' 2.0 cycle that nobody really asked for is a hot mess. At least the girls look healthy and happy though.

But as much as I like the new Uni.T song and love them (ZN was my fave and was sad she wasn't in their last comeback) I'm kinda glad the song didn't go to Brave Girls. It's not a very strong title track for me and tbh the melody is kinda similar to High Heels I thought
